I've always been scared of Ralph Reed and his "coalition."

I was glad that Ralph lost.  Like members of the opposition party, he let power and money get to him, forgot what his purpose was and strayed from his purpose and moral compass to the point he called on an old bipartisan lobbyist to support.  Off with his head.  Glad Cagle won.

Kacky -  After doing some more thinking and a little research...

you are absolutely right, good old ralphie didn't need to win... LV, your post reminded me why -

not only did he let money and power go to his head... he started out using religion as the basis for it, IMO... and that alone should be a huge red flag...

The rise and fall of Ralph Reed
The rise and fall of Ralph Reed

Led the Christian Coalition from 1989 to 1997, helping to transform the Christian right into a political powerhouse.

Stepped down in 1997 to court Christian conservative voters for George W. Bush's 2000 campaign. The group's influence and fundraising ability began to wane.

Helped engineer the rise of GOP politics in Georgia as chairman of the state party during the 2002 elections, when voters elected the first Republican governor since 1872 and ousted Democratic U.S. Sen. Max Cleland.

In 2006 Reed's public relations and lobbying businesses were implicated in a scandal involving lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who hired the firm to battle the opening of casinos that would compete with Abramoff's American Indian clients.

Defeated in 2006 by a lesser-known opponent in the Republican primary for Georgia lieutenant governor.
