And my daughter will have graduated from college, I will be a widow, and 2 feet into my casket myself.  LOL, gosh oh golly gee.

There is a ton of agitation in the court room at the moment.   Yuri is saying he did not investigate the smell that was mentioned.   George is pissed, Cindy is reeling the guy in blue that appears to look like he could be George's brother is shaking his head no.

I just spent most of my day watching this trial and I don't see who the defense team is, it sounded more like the defense was trying to convict their client then represent her..  The state witnesses were all believable, not like Cindy and George..   Well thats my thoughts on this hearing today. 

OMG.  We almost have a new mascot for the Monkeys.  Too bad "See No Evil" monklee was that for this precious photo op.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the first-degree murder case against Casey Anthony are back in court this afternoon to pick back up on witness testimony and arguments.

What is expected to be a two-day hearing began this morning with heated, and at times, emotional testimony from Anthony's parents, George Anthony and Cindy Anthony.

Casey Anthony cried this morning as her mother took the stand.

This afternoon, several Orange County Sheriff's Office employees took the stand including lead detective Yuri Melich.

Noticed something after people left, Judge Perry had the meeting with the lawyers at the bench, THEN when the courtroom was cleared, camera on JP, he walked out to the left of the screen, then Baez appears from that same place on camera as he approaches Mason at the defense table

Baez points and gestures towards the judge's exit, and they both follow-- looks like JP, Mason and Baez are at this moment, having a meeting in chambers, and I'm going to speculate that this was discussed at the bench,

I sincerely hope the "sidebar" chat had to do with the fact that if it takes 2 days to get through one issue, they are going to "motioning" up through trial over this nonsense.

Ms. Drane Burdick does not take orders from me, lol, but I would have given my best strangers bicuspid if when George started in with the "amber alert" should have been called in nonsense, that she would have responded:

.."Mr. Anthony your granddaughter had been missing for 31 days at that point, or do you know something that we do not about what happened to her?.."

If that is the case, it will not be pretty or pleasant for Bozo

I have super eyes and I believe she handed Jose a love note..  If I was her I would be wondering who side my attorneys were on.  Basically the detective was concerned about a missing little girl and Jose is saying how could you not know my client is a thief, lier and and someone that killed her own daughter..  I mean isn't that what a reasonable person would think??? 

I know I didn't believe that Caylee was murdered, I believed that Casey was hiding her out of spite.  I would think most felt that way at first until more facts came in.  So with Jose saying that they should of been investigating a murder and not a missing child, that is so wrong..  No one knew how evil Casey was until it was too late.  If this is one motion, this case is going to take forever.  TD

I know I have seen the guy on the row in front of the Anthonys before. I just cannot put a name with the face. I know someone out there knows who it is out of all the smart monkeys.......

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's mother, father and the lead detective in the murder case took the stand Wednesday on the first day of a scheduled two-day hearing.

The two sides in the case are arguing nine motions in the case.

On Wednesday, the testimony related to Anthony's statements that she made to law enforcement on the day of her first arrest. Defense attorneys want the statements thrown out.

Anthony broke into tears as her mother took the oath.

just posted this over in JSM thread...I have to go catch up on the last Caylee thread to see what all you had to say...

what an exciting day..Tupelo was there along with some other bloggers...Tupelo will be logging on later..she is actually going to go back to court tomorrow..
first of all, Casey is really really tiny in stature..Cindy and George were both nicely dressed and were very quiet while in the court room seats by us..right across from us..The courtroom where the spectators sit is very small..only about 3 small rows...on each side. We had excellent seats..could see Casey, could see the Anthony's right across..rode the elevator down at lunch with Jose Baez.. Cindy is not over weight...the cameras really do add extra pounds..in fact for her age, I would say that she could be considered a very attractive woman. Lee was there...he can't help how he looks...you can't shine a turd..
The judge is a no nonsense guy.. he does crack some jokes here and there...but he has total control over his court room...
it was slow moving...every little thing had to be said and resaid a different way so that each side was happy..
Casey wrote stuff the whole time! she hardly stopped writing..I told the lady next to me that it was more like she was doing a final exam or something..She was kindof in another world..doing her homework..oblivious to what was going on around her..not sure how much she could listen to when she was so busy writing..
no flirting with Baez or anyone else that I saw..she hardly looked up..
Saw a lot of familiar faces that Tupelo knows the names...
I am glad that I went...it was an experience to be there..

Hi Monks--Well, this guy is wearing the uniform of the starship "Enterprise." so I assume he's from the planet Vulcan.

I don't know what to think about today's court goings-on.  I think Det. Melich was playing with Baez like a cat plays with a mouse.  The most interesting thing about today I thought was the information that Casey was put in handcuffs at Cindy's request.  That might have been public knowledge before, but this member of the public didn't know it.

Casey did cry when Cindy went to the stand..on the way back after testifying, Cindy mouthed I love you to Casey ...Casey did not look her way.
Casey and George never looked at each other that I saw..not even when George was leaving the stand and had to walk almost right past her..

awesome you got to attend. Lots of fireworks lol and you were there. So did you get to be up close to anyone and did you get to ride in the elevator with any of the good guys! wow I am so amazed at how much weight cindy has put on. She must be under alot of stress and is using food for comfort.
She appeared more mellowed out than george, he seemed hostile and so like the time he was being deposed by morgan. It is going to go against casey/ these attitudes will not fly with the jury.

I think the jury will be able to figure out the anthonys and bozo right away. Casey is her usual self which is good for the state.  They do not realize they are helping her get the needle in her arm.or LWOP.

Marinated Dave or whoever he is sat right next to us...seemed like a nice guy..I don't think that he wanted to get judge Strickland into trouble at all..he might have been tricked into his wording or something.he was explaining what happened and then we had to be quiet..
We talked to a few of the news persons...all really nice and friendly...they didn't say anything to me one way or the other about the grand parents...some feel that they are suffering and are in total denial..
Cindy and George both looked like they had not slept and had really puffy eyes from the beginning of the day...

Loca...Cindy is not over weight..the camera really does add poundage to a person..she might be a size 8-10, just my guess...and perhaps the sweater or outfit she had on today added weight through the cameras..but in person, everyone is a lot slimmer...Bozo is not as chubby as he looks on camera either...

I am watching JVM and leonord padilla is saying that baez did a good job and today so far is in favor of the defense.

I think that the prosecution did a great job..
I think that the young police officer who couldn't remember anything was a terrible witness..he should have reviewed his notes before going on the stand..in his defense, he was young and nervous and it has been 2 years ....

Cindy was pretty upset a few times...George did nothing to comfort her..
she did have her chubby friend with her...I think it was the same lady who greeted Cindy and George when they got off the cruise that time...

Well, that is interesting....I don't remember seeing a picture of him before. Maybe he looks like someone I know, but I swear, I seem to place that face. If he is from Orlando, it could have been I have seen him out & about there since we are there often.

I have a lot of reading to do, I just came to this page first.  But YES, it was some kind of day!!

Not sure where to begin, but it was great meeting a fellow Monkey, who is a great lady, and sharing this experience together.

Casey is as thin as a rail, very petite. I only had a side view of her face most of the time, with a couple of shots pretty good when she was talking to Baez.(Who by the way is still full of smirks and smart azz remarks.)  I thought Casey looked pretty good today. Her hair was clean, and because of the ponytail, I witnessed no hair playing. Actually, I never saw any grooming from her. She spent most of her time writing.

Cindy is actually a pretty woman, at least on the outside.  No flying bananas ok?  I think she dresses to young for her age, but that's jmo.  She had a rough day today.  She did mouth to Casey "I love you" on her way back from testifying.  I couldn't see Casey's face so I don't know if she looked at Cindy or not.  I did notice her wiping tears, or at least the motion of wiping tears away, when Cindy first took the stand.  But it didn't last long at all.

George on the other hand DID NOT look Casey's way at all!!! He actually did a long, hard blink or squeezed his eyes shut when he was close to her as he was leaving the stand.  He was not going to look at her no matter what.   I guess he's had enough of her.  And.... I did love the scolding CJBP gave George, tee hee, and Cindy had a little reminder from JP as well.

So after lunch, I see that Cindy is sitting bent at the waist with her head in her hands. And she stays that way for some time.  George totally ignores her.   She sits back up for a bit and then she goes back down again.  George remains the same.   I didn't see any of the shots that are posted on this page as they were sitting right across from be in the same row.
A little bit later, I noticed Cindy had her head resting on Georg's shoulder, and again, George remains the same.  Somebody is not a happy camper!

Lee looked like a total slob. I don't usually comment on appearances, but he really was sloppy today.  He didn't take the stand today, but he remained there all day outside of the court room. I suspect he will be back tomorrow.  He rode down in the elevator with me and 6 or so other people as soon as the hearing was over, he did not wait for G or C....at least not inside the courtroom.

Don't ya love Yuri?!  He was great today, I thought. Would you define suspicious for me so I can answer your question?  LOL  loved it.

So many people that I have seen over the years were in the courtroom today.  Diana Tennis came in later on, set up her laptop, and never stopped typing. It was annoying but I wonder what she was really doing?  She told Marinade Dave that she no longer represents Dominic Casey.

I spoke with Kathi Belich, briefly.  I told her congrats on her new contract and thanks for doing a great job.  She is so nice, very warm and friendly. Then after lunch I rode up in the elevator with Kathi, Bill Scheaffer and Tony Pipitone, I think.  I asked Kathi how her foot was doing and she said she just got her brace off this morning and she's doing well. She said she thinks she is still limping just because she has been for so long now.  lol 

So me, being me, asks this trio.....So, how important to the case is it that Casey was handcuffed, not read any rights, then un-handcuffed? Bill and Kathi look at each other and Kathi says, "Watch for my report tonight!"   lol

Baez got into the same elevator with us when we were going down for lunch. Not a word was said inside and it was packed with people.  When we exited, Baez went up to some woman, told her congratulations and gave her a hug.  We passed each other twice outside of the courtroom....we just looked at each other and kept moving.

Spoke with Bob Kealing from wesh....nice man.  Just joking around nothing about the case, but I did ask him about the piece he was doing tonight, which I saw, on JP and the Black Widow case, which JP was the prosecutor and he witnessed her death.  The piece ties Casey in as him presiding over a death penalty case of a woman.

Oh yeah...not much rockin' from him today....some, but all in all, his chair was pretty quiet!

Met Jim Lichenstein(sp) and I said to him, "I'm going to ask you something you've been asked a lot lately, just in a different way.  Are you going to write a book on this case?" He says no. He feels it would be unethical. He covers the case for the Today Show, just like anything else he covers.   He seems quite nice as well. He talks softly (maybe due to where we were) but his eyes sparkle! I like that.

Cookie was having a conversation with Jim L when I came back from the water fountain.   He says the Anthonys are really very nice people, it's the situation.  He said that the Today Show has only paid for airfare and hotels, nothing more, no money for the photos, nothing.

I met a blogger from WS, great lady, and we took a free bus a few blocks downtown and had lunch together, which was fantastic.  I met Marinade Dave and another blogger from the Hinky Meter.

I didn't take any notes today so I'm trying to remember things.  Did you notice Casey shake her head back and forth when LDB was questioning Yuri about the tone of voice he was using with Casey on the 15/16th of July interview. She asked him if he yelled at Casey or raised his voice with her, and Yuri said no, he used the same tone of voice he was using now. Casey shakes her head no.   And later on Casey got a little miffed at Baez!  My mind is going blank on me right now, but Baez objected to something regarding Casey,   GRRRRR I can't think of what it was.  But as he starts the objection, Casey looks at him! then reaches up and grabs his arm, like Hey, what are you doing? but Baez continues on. Casey is miffed and turns abruptly to her writing tablet and starts scribbling away.  So.....Baez even pizzes Casey off!!   


The field across from the courthouse where the media is going to set up, is HUGE.  I was talking with Red Hueber before the hearing started and he said it's private land that hasn't been developed yet and it will be packed with media once the trial starts. He said this is the biggest trial he has ever covered.

That's about all right now except......I'm going back tomorrow!!

the tv guy that did the show on Judge Perry tonight is much better looking in person..he was really nice...all of those media guys were very nice and friendly...I was glad that we got to speak with them..
I must have left before Casey grabbed Baez's arm...didn't see that.
I had a better view of Casey than you did...She did not look at Cindy when Cindy left the stand...Casey did compose her self very well..a few tears and then it was over..

no..he was not allowed in the courtroom..he and some other witnesses which I suspect were police officers and another fellow who represents or is a witness for Universal were left waiting all day as well..I spoke to them as I left..it was a very long day for them...felt bad for them...

Was Cindy as fat as she appeared in the video?  I thought at first it was the top she had on which never looks good on older women, but then when she turned to get on the stand her butt looked as wide as bertha butt's. LOL  In the seat her face looked real blown up too so I decided that she must have put on about 40 pounds. What did she look like in person?

They are going to be the best witnesses for the prosecution in the trial. Neither of them can stick to the subject at hand and they run their mouths excessively which makes for a great prosecution witness when they have been known to lie in the past.

I wish when Bozo or Jar-Head asks the next LE officer how tall he is and how much he weighs.....they ask them what Casey's height and weight was and how much little, defenseless Caylee weighed and how small she was compared to her killer mother. ::MonkeyMad::

Cindy is not fat at all.  She does have a big chest, which was much better supported today, but she is not fat at all. She looked tired and maybe wasn't feeling well, not sure, puffiness to the eyes this morning, but so did I.  She's actually an attractive woman.

I was thinking the same thing today Seeme.  But I think Yuri put him in his place by saying they were just three adult males.

Casey is very petite..she looks to be barely 5 ft tall...small person...her hair looked better today in the pony tail..she was not shackled at any time that I saw her..she gets her clothes from Cindy each time before court..someone told me that today..Cindy brings the clothes and then Casey changes into them and comes into court...

I did not see George do the kiss thing, nor did I see him even glance her way...the stand that they were on was rather low so it was hard to always see especially when the attorneys were standing up...

Completely agree Turbo.  Those "grieving" grandparents are trying so hard to avoid giving any answer that could be detrimental to Casey that they make complete fools of themselves.  I find it sick and sad.  And it's easy to see that the apples didn't fall very far from the tree in that family.  I feel like I need a shower after watching their nauseating display today! 

And I love Georgie's rant about the Amber Alert.  I'd like to have just a minute with him to ask a couple things.  Like what good would it have done 31 days after she went missing?  and Who does he think would have seen her ... she was wrapped in garbage bags laying in the woods behind his house!  Oh, they really pizz me off!

There was a tape recording of Yuri talking to KC in the bedroom and his voice was not as CA stated as become more intimidating as Cindy said. It looks to me as if Cindy has been caught in a lie already. Did you see Cindy's  face when Linda B. told her that conversation was recorded  ? Cindy very obviously did not know that before that second - it was priceless!!!

Another thing about Cindy's testimony    
When she was testifying KC being handcuffed, Cindy said if she could consult her notes at home she might be able to pinpoint more specific time line. Now WHY would someone have all those notes including a timeline if she did not think KC had killed Caylee? No one would have taken notes about things like that if they did not know the truth.

My next question is where did she think she was going today if she KNEW she had those notes and did not bring them?  What did she think she was going to testify concerning if not the handcuffs? You know the attorneys briefed her prior. I am thinking she is going to go home and "write" some bogus notes.

isn't it weird that baez isnt the only one that conveniently shows up in court unprepared no notes? if you cant walk it dont talk it.

That is interesting as the videos don't show that at all IMO. I thought she looked really bloated & even wondered if she had been taking some kind of steroid or something which had blown her up.

Casey got all flattered when the officer was asked how much he thought that Casey weighed and how tall she was..it was sickening to watch..She is sooooo proud of herself..

Cindy lied big time on the stand today. She didn't come clean about asking that Casey be taken to jail and showing the receipts to the officer.

She and George both stated they had meticulous, contemporaneous notes at home. I believe they got that on the record so they could later change anything that didn't work out well today by "refreshing their memory" after looking at their notes.

Personally, I think Zenaida is keeping those notes for them.   :roll:

(2/25/11)  Oakley, California.  Today the dynamic new series designed specifically to protect children from predators was pre-launched before the media, with the official launching date to be March 1st.  Immediately after the website opened, hundreds of people signed on.

The Hunted Child is a shocking but informative new video series.  Child abduction and rape has become epidemic throughout the world and even though predators have been incarcerated, placed under psychological and psychiatric care, once released they go right back to repeat their crimes.

According to Jerry Hanoum who spoke at the news conference, each pedophile, according to statistics, has molested at least 120 children before caught, and goes on to repeat that behavior when released.  No private or government program has been able to provide an effective solution or program to put a stop to these criminal sexual acts. With the passing of this bill, every person who has been convicted of harming a child will be required to have a Mark on his or her name and/or body, to identify that individual as a danger to children. The mark can be removed only when that individual has gone though treatment and extensive counseling and has proven beyond doubt to be responsible. However, a GPS device will be on that person for the rest of his of her life, to be certain that our children are protected.

The news regularly reports these stories including the recent one where a pedophile snatched a little girl from the aisle of a Dollar Store, threw her down on the floor and got on top of her in an attempt to rape her while her parents were in the next aisle.

The Hunted Child videos will provide specific preventative measures to keep your child safe.  It is not a ‘predator’ series. The videos re-enact various actual cases and provide specific preventative measures to keep your child safe.

In his opening address to the media, he stated: “As the founder of “The Hunted Child” and the developing bill, “Mark For Mark, “ my credentials and reason for doing this is simple, I’m a passionate father and grandfather who has seen and heard enough of the rising war of abduction, molestation and rape against our children.”  He went on to quote startling statistics as to how bad the problem is.

Beginning March 1st, The Hunted Child will be officially launched to the whole world with a new program every week. This might be the first effective program to deal with the pedophile problem yet to be implemented.

WFTV analyst Bill Sheaffer said it was clear that once Anthony was uncuffed, she could have left. “The only person, it appears, that said Casey wasn’t free  free to leave was Casey’s mother, who said I’d have stopped her if I had to sit on her.”

and you still continue to do this to her.  Why?  Blowing kisses, telling her how beautiful she looks, were her looks all that mattered to you?  What did you say to her?  Oh, Casey, you are the most beautiful lying thief we know?  You are beautiful (blow kisses) that is just what you want to say and do to a daughter who has accused you of molestation, way to prove her point daddy.  Why did you have your hands around her throat mommy?  Was it because she stole from her Grandfather's account or was it because she gained a pound?  Lee, keep telling her you love her, in spite of the fact she accused you of molesting her.  Do you approve of that or is she finally telling the truth and you are proud of molesting your sister?

These people are really sick and grossly inappropriate.  Mallory marrying Lee and the possibility of starting the cycle of death all over again makes my hair stand on end.  It is not a matter of if, but when.  God help any child brought into either home with accusations of molestation, inappropriate gestures, boundaries, laughter, and most of all the abuse that goes on from what I understand from Casey's letters and neighbors and relatives who have provided information and what I have seen with my own eyes (and wish I didn't).  At the very least they need to be taken off the street.  They are a disaster waiting to happen.

Will Lee and Mallory let the Anthonys babysit?  Would they have let Casey babysit?  Mallory, you will never take his sister's place as his number one love.  Run while you still can.  That mood he was in when his sister's bracelet got destroyed, it could be the whole family has mood disorders, they certainly appear paranoid by their remarks about everyone being out to get Casey and the Anthony family.  Don't you want to be number one in someone's life, Mallory?  At best, all Lee can offer you is number two.  Save yourself and your unborn children.  You and your future children deserve better.

Well during that objection, he was overruled.   Yes, I agree he will be but I do not think he will be successful.   The bottom line is she was not under arrest.   The time she was cuffed was due to the stolen money, charge cards, car & she was released from them.   On several occasions Casey volunteered to talk to LE up and thru her visit to Universal, after she admitted she lied & it was established that she did not report her child missing for 31 days she was then SUBSEQUENTLY placed under arrest & read her Miranda rights at that time....did I mention Im getting ticked that this is taking 2 days of the courts time?

This is making me very upset.

There is one thing which may have come up but I missed and that is IIRC Cindy kept demanding that KC be arrested so she couldn't run off. It is not unusual for LE to cuff a number of people at a scene when they haven't sorted out yet what is going on & with with Cindy demanding she be arrested, I am just guessing they cuffed KC until they sorted it all out.

I went to pick up a friend of mine's son for her a few weeks @ a teen party & they had about 15 kids cuffed and in the back of police cars. They ended up releasing the majority of them to their parents, but they were cuffed and in the cars. So what is the big deal here?

I wish that darn pen of hers would run out of ink.  What the heck could she be writing. 

This stuff annoys me, the rights murderers get, makes me sick.  I remember watching John Couey's trial and they gave him crayons or colored pencils to keep him busy while his trial went on.  I was disgusted by that.  They should hang murderers from the ceiling by their hair during their trials, not give them crayons.

I have to say that yesterday in court, George and Cindy did not talk that much while sitting and watching the proceedings going on..I expected some sighs, some tongue clicking, some head shaking etc....going on...I did not observe much of that...but it could have happened...they were pretty much quiet throughout..

If you watch her, you can see the evil in her face & eyes. She certainly has a persona of evil that all the laughing and tricks won't cover.

I think in a situation like this, it can be a lot harder even if George had been LE, because he and his family are personally involved.  For example, I know some advocates that work with the school bring someone else in with them to advocate for their own child, because of the emotional involvement, when they are are perfectly capable of representing a child with needs.  It's so much harder when it's your own.  JMHO  And this isn't taking up for George, it's just an observation.  I think George had certain knowledge and I think he helped clean up and cover up, so anything that gets thrown at him is fine with me.

Blink, can you weigh in on how you think the first motion ended and how much damage was done by the last witness? I'm thinking JP may parse the decision and allow some, but not all, of what Casey said and did  in.  I'm encouraged by the reminder that police sometimes do handcuff everybody in a situation until they sort out what's going on and then uncuff individuals as they figure it out. In those cases, the handcuffed folks are not under arrest, they're just "on hold".

"Agent of the state" my azz! George was the victim's grandfather. He was supposed to be doing anything and everything to get the child back. LE was speaking to him for trying to find his grandchild, not trying to entrap Casey.

Well guess what Blink! I have a window up on CNN and also a window for Fox bc Fox has the real time chat going on. It gets confusing bc CNN is a minute or 2 ahead of Fox when viewing for playback, and people on Fox chatango are posting things that I know have just been viewed in the CNN window. Either they have both windows open like I do, or else they're there in the courtroom texting. I believe they're using their cell. Some of the stuff shows up before I even view it, or hear it depending on the window I have up. Hmmm...

I am surprised when there are "on call" witnesses involved ( so far today Sgt. Allen) that anyone would be permitted to use any device in the courtroom.  However, we are talking about the State of Florida, which has the sunshine laws issue.

If I had to guess, that will end when this hits trial, I doubt highly that the jurors will be permitted to be on camera at all, and there is no way to guarantee that with a courtroom full of camera phones.

I've attended courts in California & Texas, we weren't allowed to even bring Cell phones into courthouse, had to return them to car.  In Federal Court you had to empty pockets and purses to be searched.

It can also be a a program similar to one on your TV or computer that converts the sound to text automatically, often used for anyone hearing impaired, as an example.

Updates from the hearing

11:48 a.m. -- Casey has been writing in her legal pad. At one point, she looked up and put her hand over her mouth, then went back to writing. She has made several faces while listening to the recording, with her dad still on the stand.

11:45 a.m. -- Casey was seen shaking her head 'no' after an investigator in the recording said to George: "You always love your kids."

11:36 a.m. -- The defense is about to play an audio recording of the car ride with George Anthony and sheriff's investigators on the way to jail for an alleged private meeting with Casey.

11:34 a.m. -- Jose Baez is asking George about arranging a private meeting with Casey Anthony while she was in jail.

Jose asked George if he knew he was being taped on the ride to jail for the alleged private meeting. George said no.

Baez also asked if George knew he was out of town? George said he did not learn that until later.

Once at jail, an attorney with Baez's law firm stopped the meeting from happening. Baez asked George who at jail was trying to facilitate this meeting. George said he did not know.

11:14 a.m. -- George said sheriff's officials told him they could facilitate a private meeting with Casey Anthony at jail -- no cameras, and without Jose Baez knowing. George said he thought if he could meet with his daughter for one hour, he could find out where Caylee is.

11:03 a.m. -- George is talking about hierarchy in jail. He said when he was a deputy sheriff in Ohio, he had to work in the jail at times, and saw how some people became "bosses" of others.

He said he feared for his daughter's safety in jail here in Florida.

10:44 a.m. -- George is talking about his first visit with Casey in jail, on July 25, 2008.

Jose Baez wants to know if lead Detective Yuri Melich set up the interview. George said he does not remember.

Casey has looked at her father, but for the most part, she is writing on her legal pad.

10:41 a.m. -- George Anthony said he thought he had bonded with law enforcement, but after Casey Anthony hired Jose Baez, relationships changed.

10:38 a.m. -- Two people have reportedly been removed from the courtroom. One fell asleep, and another was "rambling" about something.

10:36 a.m. -- George Anthony is back on the stand. Again, Cindy must step out of the courtroom until George is finished testifying.

10:35 a.m. -- Now discussing a motion to suppress statements made to George and Cindy Anthony; Casey's alleged jailhouse pen pal, Robyn Adams; and possibly Sylvia Hernandez.

10:30 a.m. -- Court is back in session, but Jose Baez has asked to discuss an issue in private with the judge and state prosecutors.

10:07 a.m. -- The defense has no more witnesses to call in the motion to suppress. Court is taking a 15-minute recess while state prosecutors meet.

10:05 a.m. -- The defense calls Sgt. John Allen to answer one question: Did you tell the Anthonys that Casey may not be coming home?

He said no, he did not.

10:01 a.m. -- Jose Baez is questioning Sgt. Hosey. He wants to know why Hosey can remember in detail the talk and walk with Casey Anthony, including how far they walked -- 40 yards -- but can't remember much before.

Hosey said he doesn't remember ordering handcuffs off Casey, or the investigation into a stolen car or fraudulent use of credit cards.

9:55 a.m. -- Re: "Are Cindy and George Anthony there today?" Yes, they are.

9:51 a.m. -- Assistant state Attorney Linda Drane Burdick is explaining all of Sgt. Hosey's duties the night Caylee Anthony was reported missing.

Hosey ordered Deputy Adria Acevedo, who testified Wednesday, to drive with Casey Anthony to the Sawgrass Apartments.

Hosey also told another deputy to drive to Casey's then-boyfriend, Anthony Lazaro's apartment to retrieve Casey's cell phone.

Sgt. Hosey said George and Cindy Anthony told him Casey's behavior was sporadic, and they were concerned for Caylee's safety.

Hosey and Casey took a walk, and Casey told him George and Cindy were trying to take Caylee away from her. He asked her if Caylee was OK, and Casey told him she was OK.

9:42 a.m. -- This morning's arguments continue to focus on the motion to suppress. The defense is trying to get statements Casey Anthony made to law enforcement thrown out. The state is now cross-examining Sgt. Hosey.

9:34 a.m. -- Sgt. Hosey said he does not remember that night telling the deputy to take handcuffs off Casey Anthony, but now that he has watched news reports, he says he must have.

Defense attorney Jose Baez said when Hosey was deposed months ago, he denied ordering the handcuffs off Casey.

Today in court, Hosey said he now remembers.

Baez asked if Hosey knows he is not allowed to talk to people about case, or watch reports on it. Hosey said he can't help it if he is in front of a television and a report comes on.

9:24 a.m. -- Sgt. Reginald Hosey, with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, has taken the stand. He was in charge of the scene at the Anthony home when Caylee was first reported missing.

9:18 a.m. -- Casey is here, and hearing is under way. The judge has told the gallery to refrain from comments, snickers and making facial expressions during testimony.

9:11 a.m. -- Thursday's hearing is getting a late start. No Casey Anthony or Judge Perry yet.

Question: Could Baez be setting the appeal for ineffective assistance of counsel on purpose? Could he be so anti dp that he just expands the courts use of time, therefore keeping his client away from the needle a bit longer than necessary? I mean, I personally think she'll get life in prison instead of death, but that's jmho. I do wonder if he's doing all of this on purpose. I mean, it would be a win/win situation for him bc his client is is trying to avoid being put to death and he is anti dp. He makes a ton of money after the case by a single book deal alone for crying out loud. She can sue for inneffective counsel on appeal, therefore prolonging her life. I mean, maybe it's a stretch, but all of those involved in her case have been anti dp... remember when everyone was exploring Geraldo's role in Baez and the dream team? They were all anti dp. Once anti dp advocates get hold of a dp case, the money never runs dry. Baez gets paid anyway. All the while Casey remains alive. Based on stuff I've seen with Baez alone, she's gaining an appeal after found guilty, and her time on earth would be stretched out for many years. Florida is not Texas when it comes to the dp, in other words, not as quick.

This could go on forever.  Heaven forbid that Baez has to work another Saturday.I just don't understand why the judge is allowing this to go on and on.  As far as I know, LE can attempt  to get a suspect's relative to talk to them. There was no pressure.  George was free to say he didn't want to do it.  He knew it would be taped.  Casey is an adult and could refuse to see him, which after all is what she did.  The judge allows Baez to argue with him.  I think he's losing control of his court.  Maybe he's never seen anyone as inept as Baez and it is entertaining to him.  But it is costing the taxpayers of FL a lot of money just to have court in session.  I frankly don't get it.

I have to run some errands.  Will someone please ask the judge to wait 'til I get back?
