Use of Jury Consultants

There are two scenarios in which attorneys may consider using a jury consultant to further assist them in selecting jurors. First, if their client is a celebrity, there may be very strongly divided opinions among potential jurors on whether they like or dislike that client. This would be a great obstacle to finding at least an impartial jury. Second, even if their client does not provoke any strong sentiment, if he has a great deal to lose, they may still want to improve the probability of a favorable outcome. In either instance, to use a jury consultant constitutes an additional expense. The average cost is $250 per hour, and it could total anywhere from $10,000 to $250,000.

Most jury consultants have backgrounds in law, psychology, or sociology. In spite of the expertise a jury consultant may have, the profession is largely unregulated. Although jury consultants claim to be accurate in their appraising potential jurors, many scholars are skeptical. Another criticism is that using a jury consultant gives the general public the impression that a favorable verdict can be purchased if the right jury is selected. In light of this criticism, some judges have taken the initiative to have consultants appointed for indigent defendants.

Abstract
Does introducing alternative suspects diminish belief in a defendant's guilt? Participants read a fictional murder trial transcript. In some conditions, the defense attorney described how one or more other people could have committed the crime. Accusing one alternative suspect dramatically reduced guilty verdicts. However, accusing two or three was not much better than accusing one. Theoretically, the story model and support theory can be interpreted as accounting for these results. Practically, a defense that argues not only that the defendant is innocent but also that some other individual(s) could have committed the crime is more likely to attain an acquittal.

i'm wondering if/when the defense throws george under the bus, if his testimony will change from what is in his depositions to what the TRUTH is

Playing to the audience? Maybe he should dress up like a tomato or turkey and dance around a bit. Baez loves attention, even if it's negative. I think he has a false sense of security, like there is no way Judge Perry will boot him no matter what he does, no matter how unethical. He's gotten away with so much, and like a child, it gives him the drive to continue to push the envelope in bad behavior. I would be mortified if a law school was using me as a bad example. Nope, doesn't bother him at all, at least they are looking at him.

Casey and Jose were meant for each other. Both will do anything for attention. But really Casey, flirting with that ol coot Mason to make Baez jealous? Grabbing his waist and rubbing against him? And yuck, letting him rub his finger in a circular pattern on her arm. Just gross. This isn't high school defense team, it's about the murder of a baby and your flirting with a killer. 

They know most of her secrets, supposedly. They can see her lies, hell anyone, even Mason can see through them. And yet they treat her like that? I understand defending her, it's their job. But to flirt and giggle? Someone needs to take control of this situation.

I didn't catch it, believe it, but don't think I can watch it without going ballistic. just goes to show that even a plae, homicidal convict can gradually pull in a lameass old fart with just a lil,lilsumptin. Which makes me wonder why?!  Byass certainly wasn't going to bring it up.  The Honorable Judge Perry probably wouldn't bring it up without the prodding of prosecutors.  I have to think Byass only did this hoping prosecution would bring it up and it would prolong time to trial.  Prosecutors didn't see it as a big deal and the trial will begin on schedule.  Sorry Byass - nice try - but might wanna come up with a defense in the next week or so!   ::MonkeyGavel::

KC is a pro at seduction ... I mean seriously ... what else does she have to catch a man?  She's cute ... but lots of cute girls in Orlando.  She apparently has some intelligence (but I don't think KC's intelligence plays into this case in any way ... she's been lucky as far as that goes).  Her sex and sexiness are the only things that got her this far in life ... and IMO .. she's so stunted in that regard ... she sees no option of ever being found guilty of murdering Caylee.  That's why she seems so emotionally uninvolved when we see her in these hearings.  She still believes her "cuteness" will set her free.  She's most likely planning for her life in law school after trial!

Mom's back home, up and down like the proverbial roller coaster, therefore I am, too.  I'm just trying to get caught up...I did see 48 hours last night.  Such propaganda garbage...Hitler and Goebbels would be proud of them, were'nt they the proponents of the "Big Lie"?  (Or was that Stalin?)  At any rate, what I found fascinating was the 180 degree turnaround from the beginning of Baez's so-called defense.   Did he not say his client was innocent?  Didn't Lyon say "she didn't kill her kid?"  I guess her child dying in her care, and her not reporting it for 31 days makes her MOTY, right?   ::MonkeyMad::
Well, I'm going to try to listen to the hearing now.  The steam pouring from my ears could probably power any engine.

Had to comment on this.  I so agree. Casey's currency has always been sex, it works for her, it's what she uses instead of self reliance.   Someone has always taken care of her, and I predict it's what she'll use in prison to gain favor, (if she hasn't already been using it.)

I wasn't anti-this program.  I think prosecutors ... if they didn't watch it themselves ... certainly had someone watching.  Gave them very valuable information ... if not in the direction the defense was going (not sure even the defense knows that) but in the direction the defense will go in trying to pick it's jurors.  Very valuable information. 

No doubt she'll shake her head no, maybe shed a few tears, not for Caylee, but for her own skanky rear...
Casey is really going to need Zanny's hair straightener after her date with old sparky...just saying

Reading this reminds me of something I read on another site, but I don't remember which one. When Judge Perry was schooling Baez on what would happen if he ruled for blocking cameras in the courtroom, he said there would be a "48 hr" reversal. I think that was a deliberate reference to the upcoming show; he seemed rather amused when he said it.

I was hoping that was what he was referencing with that comment.

I wonder if Lee will be managing the parking for this "Event"?

Good morning Monkeys--

There have been too many instances where Judge Perry threatened something and did not carry through.  The $100 fine to attorneys addressing each other.  Yet, Cornpone Mason made an insulting remark to Mr. Ashton and the Judge heard it and no $100.  And consistantly threatening about deadlines and then ignoring deadlines. Same with contempt. And threatening weekend sessions, and then saying it would cost too much even though he knew about FL's financial crises prior to his weekend remark.  And when Baez tried to get cameras barred at jury selection, the judge failed to point out that Baez, himself, is the biggest culprit.  I supposed that if the judge were not learned and wise, he wouldn't hold the position he does, but I would like a little more teeth in this threats.

BabyBear, I agree.  I have confidence in Judge Perry; however, it's like a parent making idle threats to children.  Bozo and company are like children and will see how far they can push, because now they know it's going to take a whole lot more for His Honor to throw down the gauntlet.  In that I am disappointed.  I do appreciate there is a fine line between grounds for a mistrial, etc. but IMO the line is much thicker than we've seen thus far.

Hey loca!  Thanks for this info.....so the State deposed these people in January of this year!  Why is the defense just now getting around to deposing them? Geesh.  Same old, same old.....they are so predictable with the delay BS.

The duhfense is like little gnats. Annoying and pesty.

I officially made myself sick.
For the first time evah  I left a package of meat in the car.
I got in this am. and thought I was going to die from the smell.
I threw the bag out in the dumpster and sprayed the car (Not with Febreeze).
When I got back in after work, there were huge flies in the car.
I was screaming (bec. bugs skeeve me), but I think I finally got them out.
When I go to my mother's later for the holiday, I'm going to leave the windows open.
Disgusting, I tell ya.

Call Sindy; I am sure she has the best tips on how to get the order out of the car.  Or at least convince you that it is only rotting pizza.   ::CowboySmiley::

Evidence Rulings Expected This Week In Casey Case

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony should find out this week if they can use pioneer air tests that were done in Casey's car's trunk and showed evidence of human decomposition and a massive amount of the potentially deadly chloroform.

The judge is also expected to rule this week on whether the jury will hear evidence that cadaver dogs alerted on Casey's car's trunk and her backyard, evidence that plant growth where Caylee's remains were found show her body was dumped there shortly after she disappeared, and evidence that a stain in her trunk also indicates human decomposition.

“I don’t think that’s a surprise,” Morgan said from Las Vegas today. He described Anthony as “pathological.”

Morgan has a special interest in Kenney Baden’s comment to “48 Hours Mystery.” Kenney Baden, a former defense attorney in the Anthony case, tells the CBS program, “She [Anthony] lied. Sure. I think everyone knows that that was a lie. Her actions have been her own worst enemy.”

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The "48 Hours Mystery" special about the Casey Anthony trial was the most watched show in Central Florida on Saturday night, according to the Nielsen ratings, and CBS News gave Local 6 a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show.

The show revolved around a focus group that was presented evidence and decided to acquit Anthony on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

CBS News officials said they did not pay jury consultant Richard Gabriel to participate in the show, and he was not allowed to keep the nearly 500 hours of video showing panelists discussing the case.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Judge Belvin Perry already knows where the jury for Casey Anthony's murder trial will be selected, but he is staying quiet on the location until the last possible moment.

Defense attorney Jose Beaz told Perry last week that he wanted a heads-up on where the 20-member jury will be selected as soon as possible, but Perry's only response was that he will tell them when he sees fit.

The chances of  "focus group" hired by a consultant paid for by the dufense (or rather the FL taxpayers) coming up with a guilty verdict against CMA is nil to none.  It was fixed from the beginning.  Ratings, sweep week, and an opportunity for Bozotoxic to strut his stuff. 

With that said, I might add that I didn't watch it because I busy watching paint dry. 

Judge Perry stated that once the venue is known there will be a "media frenzy"-  details about the case would then saturate that area....   what I don't get is, they can saturate all of Florida with this 48hrs carp and yet he doesn't do anything about that!

I think it is because he is a legend only in his own mind. He reminds me of an old bulldog trying to act important without any teeth left. LOL

What excites me is there are only 22 days left until their insanity will be displayed for all to see. All the lies will be exposed, and the attempts to discredit and blame innocent people will come to an end. As I told Blink - I can't wait for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth when that jury declares her guilty as hell. That will be a wonderful scene to me because a beautiful child like Caylee will have been avenged. I may go to Orlando that last week just to make sure I don't miss any of it and to celebrate with Caylee's angels when justice is done.

during the scott peterson trial!! the outside of the courthouse was filled with protesters waiting for the verdict to be read!! could that happen here I wonder!

First, it was a surprise considering what happened with Judge Strickland.  I was not happy with the outcome of that scenario.  Thinking about it further, I realized the event itself was not Dave's fault, but afterward, he would not let it go, which was like rubbing salt in the wounds left after the battle. 

Second, and entirely unrelated to the first thought, it gave me hope.  If we keep plugging away at something we enjoy, no matter how others feel about what we do, even if we are only doing it for ourselves, someone may recognize our dedication and reward us for it.  Just doing it is rewarding in itself, what a bonus adding a paycheck to it would be.

I would think we all have something we love to do, and could relate to how amazing it would be to get an extra bonus, whatever that may be for us.

Of course George had access to the duct tape, it came from their home where Casey also had access to it.....and not just to plug a hole on a gas can.  This is Casey's defense....SODDI....I don't see how a jury could buy this BS.

I just viewed the video.....Someone may have stolen the roll of tape from the table and then used it on Caylee???  OMG.....none of this fits with the facts of the case. Does the defense team totally ignore the facts???

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The defense team in the Casey Anthony murder trial has suffered another hit to their case.

WFTV obtained transcripts detailing interviews between prosecutors and five defense witnesses, who are all Equusearch volunteers.

The defense team said the volunteers searched the area on Suburban Drive where Caylee’s remains were found.

But, according to the depositions, all five said they never searched the area.They say they didn't even get out of the car.

to State of Florida's Motion in Limine

Bacquacil is NON CHLORINE - totally chlorine free because I used it for a while in the pool in one of my rental houses. I did not like it. They did use Baquacil because I remember at the time saying on here that the pool chlorine story would not wash because they used Baquacil. In one of the pictures they released they showed the 5 gal containers in the shed and it was Baquacil which I recognized. I think I even posted a picture here of it.

Thanks for the info, Turbo.  So how can the dufense even go with the chlorine from the pool water/bathing suit theory?  I just don't understand their stupidity at continually floating theories that don't even hold water (pardon the pun). ::CowboySmiley::

Dear God, this is the silliest thing I've ever heard. If bathing suits could cause that much chloroform, they would be classified as a lethal weapon! People would be passing out left and right and we'd have mandatory hazmat laundry bags to properly bag and tag such dangerous items.  Tell me, has anyone notified their local swim teams of this serious phenomenon?   ::MonkeyShovel::

I don't think they will go with that because a bathing suit that small would not have enough chlorine in it to even give off an odor. I carry bathing suits and towels around all summer in my vehicle and there is no smell. -

If they do they will have to say it was from Tony or another one of her friend's apartment pools - they sure can't use the Anthony's pool story. I know there was something said about Tony's pool, but then they have to prove that she was ever in that pool which would require KC to testify. It is just last ditch efforts to create doubt and it isn't going to work.

Reading back over that list somethings jumped out at me. The storage container with 3 hairs in it & the 5 different cell phones they found. AT& T & Singular. Someone had said early on in this case they thought KC & George had a cell phone that Cindy did not know about - looks like that might be the case.

I wonder if a talented monkey could produce the video or a picture of Casey ho strutting in that blue sweatshirt on her first arrest where she could barely contain herself with the pure delight of the cameras and attention that she was getting.....but show her being led to getting the needle after she is convicted...Would love to see that!  Wonder if she would be quite as delighted then...I wanted to smack that look off her face that day!

The anthony's used NON-Chlorine products in their pool.
There isn't a chance in he!! Caylee's itty bitty swim suit could produce the lethal amounts of chloroform found in KC's trunk, even if she did swim in someone's pool who did use chlorine products.....or a wet freaking pool towel. When Bobo was blathering in court I am fairly certain he mentioned a bathing suit in the trunk of the car after Caylee went swimming Tony's pool could be the cause of the high chloroform readings. 

Reading through those pages and pages of bones, bone fragments, and misc. bones just makes me nauseated.  How on God's green earth could someone leave their precious child's body to just deteriorate into "pieces."  I guess the only way that I could know that is if I had the mind of a sociopath -- no regrets, no remorse, no responsibility.   ::MonkeyHang::

But again.....this does not fit the timeline and the facts.  How long did Casey's car sit at Amscot and then the tow yard?  Like Seeme said, her tiny bathing suit, or even a beach towel, would have long been bone dry and there would not be that high of a chlorine/chloroform reading.  No common sense to this theoroy at all, imo.

Absolutely agree with you.  I am waiting for any statement to come out of Bobo's mouth yet that has one iota of common sense or even something that might be confused with common sense.  I think that is why The Jar mumbles so much.  Hoping that the few words that are discernible can be strung together to make something...anything...that may be plausible; like the telephone game kids played where the first person says "Bobo is a putz" and the last person hears  "KC is a good mother" I think they knew they were hooped about using the bathing suit + Anthony pool = chloroform.  They choose the next best thing which was Tony's pool hoping no one remembers the time span between that swim and the car being found. 

I am personally waiting for the opening statement from Bobo. Expecting him to say something like KC used to give herself DIY bikini waxes in the trunk of her car before pole humping dancing and then would bleach her teeth in the trunk as well with Clorox which explains the hair with the deathband, the stain and the chloroform.

WESH-Channel 2’s Bob Kealing quoted “inside sources” who said it’s Perry’s nature to have fun. Veteran attorney Jeff Deen didn’t attribute much importance to Perry’s 8 a.m. comment. “That’s a red herring, if you ask me. He knows where he’s going,” Deen told Kealing.

In late news Monday, WKMG reported that Anthony’s lawyers had turned over some of the station’s 2008 footage of George Anthony to prosecutors. The footage shows George with duct tape that apparently matches duct tape found with his granddaughter’s remains. I just read the depos from the TES volunteers who apparently have been represented as having searched in the spot where Caylee's remains were found.  None of them did so.  It seems that Mr. Lyons bin lyin'. There are written claims on the exhibits which are not in the searchers' handwriting, i.e. "I searched 20 feet into the woods." when the searcher says she didn't get off the grassy area by the road.  These witnesses are no good to the defense.  I wonder where the 15 searchers that Mason claimed searched in the "Exact spot," where Caylee was found.  I think Jubilation T. Cornpone bin lyin' too.

There's another thing in the depositions of the TES searchers which is very irritating.  Mr. Mason-Cornpone can't keep his mouth shut during the times the state is deposing the witness.  I've seen it in depositions before.  At one point, Linda was questioning the witness, Mason butted with some remark, and Aston told him not to tell Linda what to do.  He really is just an irritating pest.  I wonder if he could be arrested for pestiness.

My guess as to why LKB said KC was a liar is that this is now part of the defense strategy: KC is a habitual liar, like a klepto can't help stealing, she can't help lying. That is why she made up stories to the police- part of her habitual behavior pattern- because she can't tell the truth to save her life,, blah, blah, history of lying to parents and friends, etc. etc. So she lies because she can't help herself, not becuase she's trying to cover up murdering her child.
Hopefully that won't be enough to create reasonable doubt as to her motive for lying in the eyes of the jury.

Hi Scatty,  What you say may be true but kleptomaniacs are prosecuted for shoplifting when they are caught.  And I think most people who commit a crime do lie about it and say they didn't do it.  Prisons are full of them.  I don't think that defense would be permitted.  I don't think it's a legal defense.  But a lot of things have been done which IMO are illegal, such as their PI trying to get witnesses to change their stories, Mason's and Baez' courtroom antics, and Baez and Mason going on TV and then trying to claim that pre-trial publicity has tainted the jury pool.  I wish Judge Perry would take control of this trial and his courtroom and demand a little decorum--that goes for the Anthonys and their gum chomping too.

Another thought: before the 48 Hr. episode aired, the defense had high hopes of getting those two mental health experts testifying. The lying behavior probably would have been played up as part of her denial of of the facts due to trauma of 'losing' her child, or whatever trumped up reason for trauma they were planning on giving. They would also use this to explain the 31 days. I definitely think LKB was going along with the defense plans and her statement about KC's lying was totally calculated.

I can't stand the defense team, nor their eagerness to defend a mother that murdered her toddler. On the night of the 48 hr airing someone here posted that it was a toupee! but I dont think its being confirmed! just an assumption!

if those photos are going to be shown in court, then they should not be air brushed or changed to cover up the bruises as was suggested.  Since some of the jury may have seen them in magazines and then see the photo touched up..would that not get their mind wondering as to why?

I don't believe the jury will believe a word out of ANY of the Anthony's mouths. They have proven over and over to be liars just like their skank daughter. At first I thought KC learned the promiscuous behaviors and lying from George but since watching Cindy maul all over men, I have decided both parents were her mentors in all her behaviors. It is a very sick family which will all fall at once I believe. As all the evidence comes out about KC the Anthonys will not be able to hear it and will get bits and pieces - just enough to perjurer themselves trying to cover up. I am so anxious for justice for Caylee to start and in 4 hours it will only be 18 days until it is starting. 

I honestly believe there will be SO MUCH evidence it will be overwhelming to the jurors for a guilty verdict. All the tricks & lies by the Anthonys and the defense will be mute issues when the state finishes their evidence.  I just can't wait until the trial is over and they slap those handcuffs on the Anthonys for their conspiracy in the cover up.

Looking at this I think she had a necklift done..which would have given her jaw more definition.  It also looks like she had injections ((Restaderm, Juvaderm something like those) in the creases running from the sides of her nose to her mouth, then also the same injections running above her upper lip, and finally some Botox between the eyes on her forehead.  All in all her doc did a wonder job...she looks better then I have ever seen her..but then being away from this case no doubt helped too.

I think George will "take the hit" to get KC off but it won't work with the jury and he will forever be branded as a child molester & PEDOPHILE. There are millions of women who were molested as a child who DO NOT MURDER THEIR BABY.

ITA ..and I also believe that very early in their testimony both George and Cindy will purposely perjure themselves so as to not have to be witnesses for the prosecution.  They have both made it very plain that they do not want to be held responsible for putting Casey in jail for LWOP or the DP.  That will be their exit..perjury, if the court allows it to go that way..meaning if Jose can cross in a manner leading up to that..you get my drift..

WFTV analyst Bill Sheaffer explained the stakes: “They’re desperate to have her  statements come into evidence without putting her on the witness stand because they don’t want her cross-examined by the state.”

How would it go if Anthony was cross-examined? “They would tear her up in a New York minute,” Sheaffer said.

The defense wants to explain why Anthony didn’t report that Caylee was missing for 31 days, WFTV anchor Martie Salt said. Prosecutors say Anthony’s new story isn’t admissible — no matter who tells it — because it happened too long ago to be relevant, Belich added. 

Sheaffer predicted, to Belich, that Chief Judge Belvin Perry won’t allow the story until after opening statements and possibly never.

I know right? lol..especially when trying on bathing suits!
it is true though about the lighting..especially since HD ....a lot of the movie stars don't like HD cause it shows everything! I wouldn't like that either..

anybody know anything about that Jonathan Baresi who contributed to her fund? why would anyone give her money? wonder if they are pen pals?

I think what we are seeing on her back at the time the pic was taken is literally her body manifesting into zits, hives and putting on the pounds due to the stress she was feeling inside prison.  Weren't these photos taken right around the time Caylee was found..meaning a little before that time..and I think she was not doing so well adjusting to prison at that point as we might think.

I also think that we are going to see a very different side of Casey soon that we have only glimpsed to a degree in court.  All the sleeve pulling, the hair touching, the hand rubbing, the tight little hand and arm movements are give aways to her stress..her tells so to speak.  If she was playing poker I'd say she knows she does not have a winning hand, but refuses to fold.   I think in the next weeks we will see the stress pile up on her face and body ..and in her actions.   The make up on her face cannot hide the body movements and hand movements that we have been seeing.  I think by the time trial rolls around she is going to be a walking mess..all the make up in the world will not be able to hide her tension and anxiety in court.  I think she will reach the point that what we have seen so far in facial expressions, body movements and grooming and fidgeting is only the tip of the iceburg.

Wonderful article in the HinkyMeter this time about the 200,031 reasons KC is guilty.  This brief article effectively removes all the smoke and mirrors from what has become a serious dog and pony show and renews my faith and belief that she will be found guilty and in all probability given the death penalty.  I don't know how I feel about the DP generally but if there has ever been a case where it's called for, it's this one.  The facts Valhall gives us so beautifully could not be overcome by a competent team of defense attorneys, much less the stinking bags of wind in place for this one.  I wonder if Bozo ever wishes he had not taken the meeting with KC?  His legal career (if you want to call it that) may well be finished when this case is.

That REALLy surprises me. I thought jury selection was sort of hush hush in order to protect the citizens from exposure. I know when I was called earlier this year, a kind of high profile case, the things they ask you to divulge in open court can be very embarrassing. There were no spectators allowed.

Just caught up with all the posts from yesterday.  lol  You monkeys are a riot.  I've spit coffee all over my screen.

I just don't see how the def will be able to bring in KC's 'story' unless she told it to one of her fellow inmates.  And I don't care what event happened in her past, she knew exactly what she was doing when she killed Caylee.  She really should just get over herself and take her punishment.

this doesnt say much for mason and his reputation!! alot was said about what a great attorney he was when this case started and I am not convinced! he is mean vulgar and a bully!! he took this case to be associated with the badens and lyon!  they jumped shipped he had to remain.  His behaviour is the same as that of his colleague bozo!!  we havent seen much from him that would give us reason to respect him!!

I guess Judge Perry is going to wait until the last minute  of the 21st to let us know what his decision will be!!

Let them give an explanation for Casey & then it will get impeached by whomever they attempt to put on with these lies.  All the jury has to remember is Casey's own words which are recorded.  "I LIED."   Why should any juror believe that she is telling the truth to anyone else during her incarceration or in the future?

Sure they are going to try to pin it on George or anyone else they can, but they wont succeed.   George insomuch testified a few weeks ago that he would do just about anything to save his daughter & displayed quite an attitude in the process, I think he knows he's the fall guy & has agreed to do it like the moron he is.  The only thing that I see relevant to her "alleged" abuse is it going toward possibly saving her from getting the needle but it does not excuse what she did.   For reasons I've commented on in the past 3 long years, I truly believe Casey had designs to kill her parents since she told Amy she was getting the house being one of those reasons.   I also strongly believe from the getgo that Cindy came home from arguing with her mother over Casey & then proceeded to argue with Casey regarding stealing again from her grandparents.   I think Cindy made very specific threats & demands of Casey including that she would get custody of Caylee....IMHO Casey premeditatedly murdered Caylee to spite her mother.

Who else could testify about trauma in Anthony's life? Her own family, says Hornsby.

"It seems they're pointing at George, who would overreact or act out. That is going to be why Casey didn't feel comfortable coming forward to her parents during the first 31 days," Hornsby theorized.

The testimony of family stress could also come from Cindy, Anthony's mother, or Lee, her brother, Hornsby says.

"Obviously the defense is going to have to address a secondary issue: Why didn't she go to someone else," Hornsby said.

Jury selection in Anthony's murder trial is scheduled to begin May 9.

Former Casey Anthony boyfriend Anthony Lazzaro says in a newly released deposition filed in court Wednesday that Casey Anthony told him her father physically abused her.

"From what I remember, I think it was just hitting – that she was physically abused," Lazzaro told attorneys during a Feb. 18 deposition.

A transcript of that deposition was placed in the court file late Wednesday along with another deposition of Casey's former friend Amy Huizenga.

Well, I don't doubt that Casey told Tony that George abused her. Personally, I don't know or care. She has certainly proven that she can weave a whole web of lies and keep it going for years! (Hi Ho, Hi-Ho, it's off to work Ho goes.)
If George did hit her, it wasn't hard enough to smack any sense into her and if you put Casey in front of me right now, she'd leave my presence black and blue!
