Title: Tough Choices

Apparently some think that those who can make the tough unemotional decisions must be brain damaged, unevolved, or exceptions from the general human population.

Carnut,
Did you have an earthquake recently?  I thought I saw where there was a Mag 4 one in your area?

Very interesting Carnut.  You have been on a role with these very legitimate, thought provoking threads.  I appreciate the opportunity to discuss them.
I agree with your thoughts on this.   They MUST be impaired to make these choices,

Actually I think emotions are a development of or concurrent with the development of civilization.

I think for eons, human hunter gatherers made these decisions on a daily survival basis.

Our own native american legends are replete with stories of leaving behind those who could not fend for themselves.

I imagine if human decision makers hadn't been making those unemotional decisions, we humans and civilization might not have survived.

It's only the luxury of civilization and the development of technology that allows those who cannot fend for themselves to survive and those who make decisions based on emotion to continue to exist.

No, Anna, no earthquakes around me that I am aware of.

Course I'm probably not the most observant type around.

I was checking the one in my area of only Mag 1 and noticed the larger one that I thought was near you.

Anna I love your Easter outfit !

I think on the whole that most struggle with tough decision makers, much less tough decisions.
