All searches move to river after Caleb’s shirts found inside out in Spring River
Posted March 24, 2012, Updated March 27, 2012

FULTON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – At a quick press conference police confirmed that missing 4-year-old Caleb Linn's shirts has been found, but there is no sign of the missing child.
The Fulton County Sheriff's Department says the two shirts were found in the Spring River turned inside out. Investigators say no foul play is suspected, but they have pulled all ground searches and are only focusing on the river.

The shirts were located close to the initial cadaver dog "hit" made a around Noon Tuesday. The hit was about a quarter mile from the bridge that Caleb was last seen.

Fulton County Sheriff Buck Foley says they have boats in the water and are still searching a brush pile near that area. Sheriff Foley says they plan to continue searching until dark. More dive teams are set to help in the search Wednesday.

Police investigators have also questioned the aunt of Caleb about the last time he was seen at Kia Kima located near Cherokee Village in Fulton County. Investigators say they are trying to narrow down the timeline even more from the last time Caleb was seen by anyone.

Deputies have also been interviewing and checking with known sex offenders in Fulton and Sharp County who live nearby.

Sheriff Foley said more than 300 authorities and volunteers from several counties in northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri are in the area searching for Caleb.

Arkansas State Police said Caleb was with a group at the 900 acre Kia Kima Boy Scout Camp, when he was reported missing just after 1 p.m. Saturday.

According to ASP, the group was working on a clean-up project at a bridge about a half-mile from the main campsite. Five of the 11 children left the bridge Saturday morning to return to camp. Around 11:30 a.m., Caleb asked his aunt for permission to catch up with the others, and he hasn't been seen since.

Missing Arkansas boy's shirts found along river
March 27, 2012

This 2011 photo provided by Joey Dawson shows Dawson and his nephew Caleb Linn.

HARDY, Ark. –  Authorities say searchers found the two shirts a 4-year-old Arkansas boy was wearing downstream from the Boy Scout camp bridge where he was last seen over the weekend.

Fulton County Sheriff Buck Foley said Tuesday that he still considers the search for Caleb Linn a "search and rescue" mission. But he says the ground search has been abandoned and that searchers will focus their efforts on the South Fork of the Spring River.

Foley says two cadaver-sniffing dogs alerted searchers to the same spot not far from the bridge where Caleb was last seen Saturday, and that the shirts were found near one another.

Authorities narrowed their focus to the water late Tuesday and called off the ground search for Caleb, who has been missing since Saturday. He had tagged along with his aunt and several other children to help clear storm debris from a bridge at the 900-acre Kia Kima Boy Scout Camp, which his aunt was looking after while the regular caretaker was away.
 ::snipping2::
Caleb's parents, who declined to be interviewed, had travelled from their home in Springdale, 150 miles west of Hardy, and were staying in one of the cabins.

While waiting for clearance to join the search Tuesday, several of Caleb's relatives talked about his fear of frogs, spiders and anything else scary. Truex described Caleb, the oldest of four children, as a "very active" boy and speculated that if he had fallen in the river, he could have found his way out.

Truex, worried about how Caleb's mother, Amanda Muir, was holding up, asked aloud: "I wonder if Amanda got any rest last night."

"If we didn't get any sleep, she didn't," replied one of his uncles, Joey Dawson.

It sure doesn't sound good.  When are people going to realize that children are fascinated with water.  They have no idea of the danger it can cause.

Body of 4-year-old Arkansas boy found in river days after he went missing at Scout camp
March 28, 2012

 ::snipping2::
Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said searchers found Caleb’s body in the river about a half-mile from the bridge where the boy was last seen. His body was to be sent to the state crime lab.
 ::snipping2::
Family members, including Bruner, had fought their way along sandy trails and through thorny branches that would snap back with a thwack as they searched for Caleb on Tuesday. Another uncle, Joey Dawson, even swam to a small island in the middle of the river, just in case Caleb had gotten stranded there.

Caleb’s mom and stepdad had travelled from their home in Springdale, 150 miles west of Hardy, and have been staying at one of the cabins while searchers looked for the boy.

Shortly after searchers found Caleb’s body, his family started to grieve near the bridge where he was last seen. Bruner says they’ll likely bring his body back to northwest Arkansas for a funeral there. In the meantime, a memorial fund has been set up to help Caleb’s family pay for his funeral.

“We have a little bit of money, but it’s nothing like what he deserves,” Bruner said. “We’ll do what we can with what we have.”

Discovery of Caleb Linn's Body Takes Emotional Toll on Family, Volunteers
March 28, 2012

 ::snipping2::
Caleb would've turned five on April 3. Even being so young, he'd conquered his fear of frogs and was looking forward to Kindergarten in the fall.

"Little man," as he was known to family, had an infectious laugh and an affinity for adventure.

"Every time he's looked at us it was with a smile on his face," says Caleb's stepfather Randy Muir.

"This situation has been heartache upon heartache for the family," the family's pastor told reporters Wednesday morning.

Why did Caleb's aunt change her story three different times?  Why three versions of the events?     At least two of the three and possibly even the third would be a lie, wouldn't it?  An innocent child is dead, that we know for sure.  And I understand accidents can happen, but why did the aunt give three different versions if it was an accident?   It appears LE is waiting for the results back from the crime lab.  Even if they are clear, there are the three different stories, which equals deception.  Maybe not enough evidence?  I don't know.

Fulton County Sheriff Not Expecting Charges In Death Of Four-Year-Old Caleb Linn
April 2, 2012

The Fulton County Sheriff says he does not expect any charges to be filed in the death of four-year-old Caleb Linn.
 ::snipping2::
Last week investigators told KATV Caleb's aunt had offered at least three different versions of how the young boy disappeared.  Sheriff Buck Foley says everything points to the case being an accident.

Results from tests at the crime lab will possibly be back at the end of the week.

It does seem odd that she can't stick with a story yet they still expect it to be an accident.  Maybe she is just trying to come up with a version that she can live with.  The guilt must be overpowering and it doesn't much matter now how it happened, unless they find that it wasn't an accident.
