The article lists his father as a suspect, but not what kind of suspect.

Circumstances: Brandon was last seen on July 2, 2012, at 12:55 p.m. in the company of his father on Reynolds Road in Sumter, South Carolina. When he was last seen, he was wearing a white shirt, blue jean cargo shorts, and black sandals. Although the child was last seen in Sumter County, South Carolina, the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is interested in his whereabouts.

Off the live report it looks like they spent the night in the cab of a parked semi, not in the swamps. Brief glimpse of Brandon ,looked fine.
