"I think that Albert has been picked up by someone. We speculate whether or not it was a chance pickup or whether or not he made arrangements for someone to pick him up," said Humphries.

3 different items found in 3 different places included in that is the cell phone found in the grass.

It almost sounds like somebody TOOK him.

Body of Missing Man with Down's Syndrome Found in Canal

Posted: Sep 4, 2009 05:17 PM EDT

Updated: Sep 4, 2009 05:27 PM EDT
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says they have found the body of a man with Down's Syndrome missing now more than three weeks.

The Sheriff's office made the announcement Friday afternoon. The body of 52-year-old Albert Nelson was found just before noon Friday in a canal near St. Anthony. It was not in the canal searchers had already drained during their initial search for Nelson.

Right now investigators do not suspect foul play in Nelson's death but there is still an active investigation to found out how he died. Nelson's parents are already dead.

Nelson disappeared the morning of August 12th from his group home in St. Anthony.  Nelson checked in to the night before but was not in his room when employees checked on him the following day.

About a week after his disappearance many gathered for a candlelight vigil.

Poor Mr. Albert.

How did he wind up in the canal? I am so sad. I was hoping for a happy ending.

God bless you Mr. Albert.

I'm so sorry to see this end this way.             But why was he gone from his bed in the night?  Why would he leave his things like he did?  How did he end up in a canal?  I hope some answers will be found.  Rest in peace, Albert  an angelic monkey

Another child of God has returned home.  We praise the Lord Mr. Albert you no longer need those glasses -- our world is a little darker, but heaven is so much brighter because of your smile.

Body of Missing St. Anthony Man Found

Posted: Sep 4, 2009 04:25 PM

Updated: Sep 4, 2009 04:40 PM

ST. ANTHONY - The Fremont County Sheriff's Office announced they discovered the body of Albert Kay Nelson in a canal south of St. Anthony just before noon Friday.

He was found tangled in a fence that runs in the middle of the canal by an employee with Summit Truss who was picking apples and noticed a foul smell.

Fremont Search and Rescue said they had looked in the area several times. They believe the body must have recently floated up to the surface.

Albert, who had Down Syndrome, disappeared August 12 from the group home he lived at. Staff at the home said they checked on him the night before, but in the morning he was gone.

Friends held a vigil to raise awareness of his disappearance and to give support to one another. During the vigil, Albert's aunt said she was grateful for the support of the community as they try to find Albert.

Albert's body is scheduled to undergo an autopsy to determine cause of death. Until that is complete, the sheriff's office said the investigation is not over. However, law enforcement said they do not suspect foul play. They added they have no idea how Albert ended up in the water.

Albert's family in the area and in Wyoming has been notified.
