"Senate rejects importation of prescription drugs"

Quote
Reporting from Washington - In a victory for President Obama and his allies in the pharmaceutical industry, the Senate today turned aside a bid by a bipartisan group of lawmakers to make it easier to import cheaper prescription drugs from Canada and Western Europe -- a proposal that threatened to derail the Democrats' landmark healthcare bill.

The US is bankrupt.  Why do Americans pay more for drugs than everyone else in the world?

If drug companies can sell a drug to India for say $2, and to Canada for say $4, why do Americans pay $40?

I remember reading that the H1N1 vaccine according to the UN would cost between about $4 to $20 per dose depending on the 'wealth' of the nation buying the drug.  Why doesn't everyone pay the same fair price?

How is it that Americans pay more for the same drugs, over and over?

When the H1N1 vaccine was stolen, it's value was reported to be about $300 per dose.  $300 is much more than $20.

Why do Americans get ripped off?

Why doesn't everyone pay the same FAIR price?

How can Obama control drug prices when American get the global shaft?

This isn't reform, it's deception, fraud, waste, and a ripoff for Americans.  The US is bankrupt.
