I have appreciated your incredible coverage of the Natalee Holloway case.  I would like to express my concerns into this case, while I harbor a hatred of the Van der Sloot’s I am finding my self forced to ask some difficult questions.  Do we know at what time the story about dropping Natalee off at the hotel was created in relation to the first Aruba media reports of her missing?  I cannot help it wonder that perhaps he is telling the truth about leaving her on the beach and that when he heard of her missing he rightly was concerned about being a suspect as he was the last to be seen with her alone on the beach.  This makes him a horrible person, but it does not make him a killer and perhaps that is why there is a lack of evidence, because the initial lies have confused the incompetent investigators and they are now telling all they know.

I cannot help it wonder that even under the worst carried out interrogation none of these boys have broken unless they truly are telling all they know at this point.  As for Natalee we can rule out her being a runaway, suicide, and probably accidental drowning.  I also, believe with the growing complexity of the case and lack of evidence it is unlikely that a rape/OD or rape/murder on the part of the boys happened as there would most likely be a confession after this amount of time.  I do not believe that we can rule out some type of kidnapping for sexual trafficking or perhaps by drug dealers on Aruba; possibly out of retaliation for one of the “chaperones” chasing them off.  The fact she may have been alone on the beach, also leaves open the possibility that if she was taken by drug dealers she may be high on drugs and no longer in her clear thinking mind.

Call it a good, but bad feeling that this case is not as simple as we might want to make it and my good feeling is that she may still be alive, but the bad feeling that all are going in the wrong direction and may not find her.  9.5 times out of 10 I would say that a missing woman this long is dead there just is something not right here and my gut tells me she may still be alive.  What do think about investigators looking at other possibilites than merely the brothers and the Van der Sloots?

You make some sense with your thoughts.  I have wondered if the possibility that he did leave her alone on the beach drunk (he would be the type not to worry about the safety of another because he is ready to go have his fun elsewhere and she probably turned him down for sex).  And that was why they investigated the DJ from the Tattoo.  If maybe they thought he found her and did something with her.

If Natalee was murdered she is not on the island.  Someone would have found her by now.  I believe that if she has been murdered someone took her off the island and dumped her in the ocean or somewhere on another island.

I saw where in Texas someone found a burning 50 gallon barrell in a field this week.  Upon getting the flames out they found a human body.  It was burned so bad that all they could see that the person had long brown hair (the head was at the bottom of the barrell-leg side up)....made me wonder.....

I totally agree - I think there is a lot less evidence in this case than what is needed to prosecute or even hold them much longer - I cannot imagine a  17 year old could hold out this long if in fact he had no more to tell - I mean he is not some savy criminal - he is 17! And I don't think Paul did anything more than tell him not to talk initially and that is what I as a parent would say to - especially not without legal council - so maybe the Holloway Twitty's with their hunches and intuition are forcing the Aruban police to only go in one direction - if that is the wrong direction all other possibilites will be long gone!  If they do not find a body - I think Joran is innocent - only guilty of being a jerk!
