Elderly woman put into trash bag / set out with bulk trash Newark, NJ

I have tried 3 times to post this.....each time I get locked up and have to reboot. It is becoming an hourly event here at SM.

NEWARK (WABC) -- Police have identified an elderly woman whose body was tossed out along heaps of garbage in Newark.

The 76-year-old woman, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was found Monday in the rear of of an apartment complex for seniors located at 180 South Orange Avenue. She was wrapped in a trash bag in an area designated for bulk garbage.

The trash bin is just yards from nearby Newton Street Elementary School. Parents found out about the body Tuesday, and neighborhood parents are angry. They say police didn't clear up the information or offer more patrols for the benefit of the kids and the seniors living at the complex.

"When the kids came to school Tuesday, they had no protection," parent Cynthia Washington said. "They need more police protection," resident Jay Clark said. "It's dangerous around that building over there."

Police are waiting to learn exactly how the woman died and who could have callously left her there. They say they are investigating the incident as a homicide. Preliminary reports show the victim died of some sort of neck compression, but there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Authorities are trying to determine if this was manslaughter or an accident and the body was inappropriately disposed of.
