I don't know, but whenever I have paid by check anywhere before, I had to show my ID and they matched my siggy to my driver's license.

I think they were for Tony and his friends. Hobag knew she had to contribute something to the pot in order to try and live with Tony...IMHO, KC didn't want to seem too moochy in front of Tony's friends whom she wanted to impress.

I wonder if KC was being all chatty and giving the cashier compliments.  I think some cashiers may have a hard time asking for ID if they are getting buttered up by the thief. When I worked in a department store, people trying to pull something over or steal were often super nice.
