I have a very basic question, re. this "open to the public" thing.

Even if the exhibit is not open to the public, my assumption is that the shows are for travel agents and travel writers.

I will agree that that "audience" may be more familiar with the Natalee case than the general public.

But we have seen so many of these articles by travel writers who just don't seem to get the point:

Aruba is NOT very safe, and even worse, if something happens, justice will not be served.

So is there some reason to avoid the shows that are not "open to the public"? And for that matter, even if Aruba isn't participating, more awareness among agents & writers that this DOES STILL matter wouldn't hurt.

I will look into Miami. (Not a place I liked much, the one time I was there - in the 70s!)

Also, if I can't do any active participation, I can contribute a little toward the cost of handouts.

I am glad we have this thread. Thanks to klaas and to J4N for the tips.

I am so surprised Atlanta is not on the list, and I've even tried to find something myself. There are travel shows here all the time, until I'm looking for one!

msmarple --

The Miami event has a 'sister' show in November in Ft Lauderdale.

I posted the link a few posts up. I would not be surprised to see the same exhibitors as the Miami venue. I believe the dates are November 28 - 29. That provides plenty of preparation time.

It would be nice to think that we will have been satisfied with answers and justice by then.

What Vicki says up above is confirmed … Aruba has a booth at the Miami Herald travel show, to be held on April 28-29.

(The show is actually owned by and managed by a Connecticut company … that’s their words … how you “own” a travel show is beyond me. But anyway, Aruba will be there.)

Please spread the word to anyone in the Miami area. We did it for Natalee in Boston; let’s do it again in Miami. We want to challenge the ATA EVERYWHERE it shows its ugly face in the U.S.

klaas --  I'm out of town until this weekend and I'm still not sure if I'm able to be in town the weekend of the 28 - 29. But if anyone is interested in this event and if there is anything I can do or find out for them, I'd be glad to. Please let me know.

Sharon,

That is nice of you to offer help.
I will make sure that the organizer of the protest sees it.
And if things change, it would be great
if you could attend the event!

To all monkeys living anywhere near Miami:
Stand up for Natalee and help out the small group going.
They could use all the help they can get. There are signs to hold,
leaflets and maybe trinkets to hand out, and people to talk to.
Give it your best shot and try to attend. You will enjoy a lot of camaraderie and do a good deed at the same time.

Forgot to mention on tip sheet:

Make sure someone in the group brings a camera, video cam, etc.

If you want to film inside also, make sure you are permitted to do so.

So - are some monkeys going to the Miami show? Has someone applied for the permit?

Justice For Natalee --

I will continue to watch this thread for updates.

I will be back in Miami tomorrow evening. Not sure for how long. If there is anything I can do to help the organizer, I will consider myself lucky to be able to do anything to help. I have been a supporter of Natalee voice since the early days of June 2005.

And if I am in town for the event -- there is nothing that will keep me away.

JUSTICE FOR NATALEE!

If you can't participate in a show, perhaps you can contribute $$ a bit to help, at least with the cost of permit, sign, handouts.

I am hoping that Richard will post a way to facilitate that.

These contributions would NOT be deductible.

Richard posted this at a Petition thread that Diahanna (sp?) started - hold on, I'll post a link after I finish this post.

Richard organized the Boston demo. He has been working for years with the Amy Bradley case, and also has wrapped his arms around Natalee's.

Quote
Please encourage anyone interested to contact me at VolunteersforNatalee@gmail.com. I'm trying to build up a mailing list so that we can keep people up to date on ATA's next appearance.

If anyone is in a position to make a donation, however small, please feel free to do so. It will be passed on to the Miami people with sincere gratitude. We who went to Boston were amazed at the generosity of those who thought the cause important.

(Please note that this is not tax deductible, and that we do not speak for or represent the Holloway Twitty family in any way.)

We think this is an important cause. And we think that these demonstrations, modest though they are, will help keep Natalee's case in the public eye. Perhaps we may save more lives and help get answers.

No justice for Natalee ... no tourism for Aruba.

Here's the link to Dihanna1's thread; she's wanting to do an online petition:

I have heard ATA will be in FL in April and since it is too late to do anything for Boston visit, I am working on an online Petition to hand ATA in FL for all to sign. It can be signed online and sent via URL, emial or a printout handed directly to them.
Are there any FL posters willing to deliver and do we all think we can get a ton of signatures by April, if we try hard enough????

Challenge on?
