A computer forensic detective from the Orange County Sheriff's Office testified this morning about text messages, videos and other digital media pulled from the cellphone, laptops and digital cameras of accused child killer Casey Anthony.

Detective Sandra Osborne said computers taken from the Anthony home contained browser searches for 'chloroform,' but she couldn't specify the specific dates of those searches.

She also searched a MacBook and thumb drives belonging to Casey Anthony's former boyfriend Ricardo Morales and found pictures of Caylee Marie and her mother. It did not contain searches or references to chloroform.

One picture shown to the jury included Casey Anthony and Caylee on Morales' bed taken on Jan. 28, 2008. A bruise could be seen below Caylee's eye, but at the suggestion of defense attorney Jose Baez, Perry stressed to the jury that the bruise was not caused by any kind of abuse.

No explanation was provided about how she got the injury

Casey Anthony's trial could see the return of the accused killer's brother to the witness stand.

Lee Anthony said he is expected to be called back to testify.

But why now, as prosecutors are in the middle of talking about scientific evidence?

Lee Anthony was first called to the witness stand on June 1 -- Day 7 of the trial. He testified that he caught his sister in a number of lies when they were first searching for her missing 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

The high profile courtroom drama unfolding around Casey Anthony--the Florida mother accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008--has not been short on conflicts and legal confrontation. But one controversial aspect is stemming from an unexpected source: a can of air.

A novel and untested forensics technique that promises to sniff out the traces of decomposition on the air has been thrust into the spotlight during the trial, forcing the Oak Ridge National Labs researcher who developed it to defend his methods. It involves trapping air--in this case, air from Casey Anthony’s car--in a can for later extraction in a laboratory, where it is put through tests for the telltale signs of human composition.

(CNN) - Someone conducted keyword searches on "chloroform" using a desktop computer located in the home Casey Anthony shared with her parents, a computer examiner testified Wednesday in Anthony's capital murder trial.

The searches were found in the "deleted" or "unallocated space" portion of the computer's hard drive, Detective Sandra Osborne of the Orange County Sheriff's Office testified, meaning they had been deleted.

However, she told jurors, deleted material remains on a computer's hard drive and can be retrieved until it is overwritten by new data. It had not been overwritten on the Anthonys' computer, she said, and "a complete Internet history" was obtained. Osborne said she turned the data over to her sergeant, who is an expert at analyzing such material.

Anthony, 25, faces seven counts in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and misleading investigators. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.

The toddler's family last saw her on June 16, 2008, but no one alerted police until July 15, when the girl's maternal grandmother tracked down the suspect and demanded answers.

Sandra Osborne of the Orange County Sheriff's Office was called by prosecutors to testify about photos and Internet searches on a computer at Casey's home. Prosecutors have said previously that an Internet search on chloroform was conducted with the computer.

Forensics scientists testified this week that high levels of chloroform were found in Casey's car. Chloroform is a chemical that is associated with human decomposition, but the compound also can be used to render a person unconscious.

Osborne also testified that searches were also done on the Anthony family computer for the name Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. Casey Anthony initially told authorities that a nanny by that name kidnapped her toddler Caylee. But the searches were not until July 16, 2008 -- 31 days after prosecutors say the 2-year-old first went missing. The same search was also done on a computer belonging to Casey Anthony's former boyfriend, Ricardo Morales, and didn't yield a hit for the name.

Under cross-examination, defense attorney Jose Baez pointed that though there were two user-created accounts on Anthony's desktop, that didn't mean that no one else could have used the computer for the chloroform searches.

Casey Anthony's jailhouse pen pal has been booked into the Orange County Jail from Tallahassee, and is waiting to testify.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Techniques and tools developed in East Tennessee are playing a key role in the trial of Casey Anthony, the Florida mother accused of killing her two-year-old daughter.

Dr. Bill Bass, the man behind the University of Tennessee's body farm, explains why the science, which now seems to be on trial, is reliable.

"The body farm really is looking at some really important, cutting-edge science. It just isn't every day you get a Caylee Anthony case to apply it to," said Dr. Bass, a forensic anthropologist.

Dr. Bass says the research findings being used in the Anthony trial were developed at the body farm, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory scientist who testified Monday, Dr. Arpad Vass, is his former student.

"They're trying to make Arpad look dumb and like this is voodoo science or something like that," said Bass. "But if you get rid of all of the 'I'm for this guy and against that one,' and you're looking at it scientifically, it is good research."

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Casey Anthony cried, dabbed her eyes with a tissue and looked away as pictures of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee's skull were displayed in Florida courtroom Thursday morning.

A few jurors could be seen wiping their faces and others began to glance away as more photos were shown of the December 2008 discovery of the toddler's remains during the 14th day of her mother's murder trial.

Judge Belvin Perry warned people in the courtroom that graphic photos would be shown. He asked anyone who might become queasy to leave during a short recess before prosecutors called a crime scene investigator from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Jurors viewed a series of photos depicting the wooded area near the Anthony home where Caylee's remains were found in December 2008. Duct tape was on the child's skull ::snipping2::

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony was removed from the courtroom Thursday afternoon after appearing very fragile as photos of her daughter's skulls were shown.

Anthony began to rock back and forth, breathe deeply and hold her head in the palm of her hand as Dr. Gary Utz, the Orange/Osceola County Chief Deputy Medical Examiner, showed pictures of Caylee Anthony's remains, including graphic photos of her skull.

Anthony did not look up as photos were shown by three witnesses over a period of several hours, but the photos were described in graphic detail. ::snipping2::

(CNN) -- It is unclear if the illness that halted Casey Anthony's murder trial will delay the trial Friday morning.

Anthony's murder trial ended an hour and a half early Thursday, with Orange County Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. telling members of the media in the courtroom that Anthony was ill.

Jurors were not told why the trial ended early Thursday, and Perry asked them not to speculate. He said court would be in recess until Friday.
