Ch 6

Cindy almost staggered off the stand and had to be helped by Lippman assistant...like she was walking off a war field

George got her and wrapped his arms around Cindy and they walked out into the hallway

male deputy came to a female deputy and said: we need you now

female deputy and Cindy in the restroom

Cindy can be heard wailing through the restroom door.  George standing outside, helpless.

Wailing went on-and-on for minutes. 

Linda came out to see what was going on.  Linda went in restoom and came out and assured George Cindy was doing better.

Male deputy came and said let's go.  Minute later Cindy comes out.

Must be horrible for Cindy to stick up for Casey and look stupid for it all that time. She loves Casey and must be hard for her I'm Sure. Crazy situation to be in. She needs to let go and let God.

I can see now why they didn't ask Casey about the father of Caylee in greater detail--all hell would break lose.     

If word got out they were looking for Caylees father 32% of Orlando's males population would leave town.  JMO 

I have lived in Cindy's world -- wanting to believe so badly that what my child is telling me is true.  The amount of manipulation; the ease of the lie; the excuse for everything.  It is a co-dependency relationship that is so hard to overcome-- to turn against your own child is contrary to nature so you hope, beyond hope, that they are right and everyone else is wrong.  In fact, you develop a "us" against the world mentality which further alienates you apart from reality and any other clear thinking individual.  My wake up call came much earlier, thank goodness, than Cindy's when my daughter was busted for drugs, which of course she had an excuse for. Because of this, she doesn't have primary custody of any of her four children. None-the-less and despite what she has done, I still desperately want to believe what she says, even though I really never do because she still lies to me on a daily basis.  I have gotten to the point I don't ask question unless I really have to find out something.  We never depend on her to be anywhere when she says she is suppose to be. 

My husband and I are raising my daughter's "Caylee" and even though my daughter is in and out of my house at her own pleasure, she will never get custody of my granddaughter. (Bio-dad is in jail)I would fight her tooth and nail to keep that from happening because I know that she has no business raising a child.  Her primary focus is, was, and will always he herself.  KC is the same way. 

I certainly can feel Cindy's pain and know that what she is doing today is the hardest thing in the world she has ever been asked to do.  She is doing it the same reason I would -- because in the end, my granddaughter is the innocent and she is the adult.  Sometimes making that decision takes a long time because who wants to believe the worst of your own child?
