Considering the incompetence of the defence attorney ... is it possible if Casey does receive the death penalty or LWOP ... she can appeal that decision.  In other words ... will we be going through this trial process again in the future?

Hi Janet,

Yes and No.

Yes, she can appeal.

But before the appeal is heard and a new hearing held a panel of judges will look over her claims..and her having an incompettent attorney won't float..she has 6 attorney's there today..she has plenty of legal help..and has been in court for every motion since day one..for that reason.

So no she will not win a new trial on appeal due to bad lawyering..she has 6.

I'm actually hoping for LWOP. I agree with a few others who said DP is too good for her.

Let's for a moment, however, pretend she walks. What would her life be like anyway? She's extremely hated. Will she ever be able to work again? Will she have to be in fear for her life constantly? While I don't want her to walk--and at the moment don't think she will--even if she does, her life is pretty much over--methinks.

Agh, so I watched some more of bobo attacking amy... I have a glass of merlot with me though he he. but here's my question....

he's trying to make amy out to look like a drunk who was envious of kc's dating life...sheesh, but even if any of it were true how can he be allowed to attack character when kc is the one herself who talked about her car stinking and so forth in text messages and chat??!! Let's say for the sake of his argument any of the attacks he's making on amy were true, none of that has anything to do with the evidence the police found in their online and text messaging conversations because kc herself said all that stuff.

Can he just go in there and blindly attack every witness like that?

I think GypsyDD is prolly correct that with 6 lawyers, Casey is not likely to be able to claim inadequate counsel.  But I thiink that would make more sense than insanity because obviously she knew right from wrong.

Does Florida have automatic appeal in the case of death penalty?  LWOPP? 

Sorry for all the questions but so many of you are so much more familiar with this case than I am.

I think baez reads all the blogs! to see what people are saying about him. And for the most part everyone's punking him so the next day he tries harder to have that johnny cochran moment! and ends up falling flat on his face.
I think the jury will notice how nasty and arrogant baez is and how inexperienced! they are going to take note that he tries to discredit everyone!

anything to make his client the  real victim. It's gonna fall flat and the jurors are alreeady not liking her and surely if they dont like her.. well what could they possibly be thinking of this attorney!.?

i can hear the jury now deliberating, the sore points are going to be

lied to mom,dad everyone,about caylee where abouts,yet she knew her child was/could not be found
and didnt,own up to that fact for 31 days,when pushed to do it

then surprise of surprises,caylee body shows up at a neighborhood pet cemetery,not a mile away
from home sweet home

her imaginary friends,she was setting up for the future Qs,about caylee whereabouts

all the other evidence presented,points to the above

3hr later jury back with guilty as charged

I was looking for something in one of my old post and stumbled on some talk way back when about Baez filing a motion for Caylee to travel to places of interest - does anyone remember that!  Wow, considering the defense contends that she supposedly drowned in the backyard, where do you think Baez and Casey wanted to go that was interesting?

She wanted to be bonded out so that she could look for her daughter.. never left the house except to go to baez office everyday ... long hrs.. eating olive garden and god only knows if there was any boinking on!!!

Yeah, I REALLY want to know!  I think she drugged her and put her in the trunk of her car but that's just me.  And lots of other people.  I hope a big deal is made of this as it could lead to cause of death.

I read about the nilton diaz man .. that jose represented. He was found guilty! baez held out information to the state! because he wanted to surprise them.. trial by ambush did not work.. the man was very upset.. hollered ineffective counsel... I dont remember but I seem to recall that baez came back with a snark about that.

so when this case ends and casey goes to the skank tank she is going to curse baez!!
