Why do they need an hour and a half for lunch?
I don't get it.

If I were a juror, I would need the rest of the day off after hearing all the crap they have to listen to. LOL

I really don't know if I would have an appetite after some of the physical evidence starts to come out..when they get into that I think a few jurors will not be eating much at lunch time.

GDD, I agree....it's gonna get real ugly when the forensics start....looking at the clothing and the blanket and how she was packed up like garbage and thrown away

Not all of them. I personally know a childhood friend who was molested for years by her adoptive father (her uncle--her parents were killed in a car accident when she was very young) The adoptive mother knew and did nothing. She finally told someone (besides me, I did know but was her age and didn't know what to do to help her back then, we were really young)
<snipped>

That loyalty usually ends by age 14 or so. In a child they don't have any options or power, but most when they become adults choose to not only stay away from the abuser, but develop a blind running hate for them which is hard to overcome. Having talked with many of the homeless women, they all seem to have the same attitude...."I wouldn't p*ss on him if he was on fire".

Turbo, that is exactly how old she was when she told the school counselor!

Will Casey get on the stand? Think Baez will try to make her?
Even if she did no one would believe her.
maybe they made a deal if he said sex abuse in opening statement she had to back it up on the stand?

Lee Anthony - Marketing Genius

Currently unemployed.

Hollywood can't write this stuff. It's priceless.

You really can't . My hubs come in every night and asks me about it. He has not followed any trial other than OJ and Kaitlins in 26 years. It is so rivetting that my son and his college friends follow it and know details that surprise me that they know. They are always asking me questions about it as well. I am banking on that if these college students can see right through Casey and say that she killed her baby, the jury will as well. ::justice2NJ::

it is hard to believe that the dt is SO inept and I'm beginning to wonder if this is all a ruse intended to secure a mistrial....

Me, too. It's too insane not to be. <shrug>

Were these photos released before? I admit, I haven't even attempted to see if there were or not, because I think I will get very upset.

Same here with my hubby. He never followed OJ or anything. He says she's guily, and that's based solely what he's seen so far. He has not followed this case at all, nor asked me questions. He said he wanted an "untainted" view. So, there ya go. He sees it. So will the jurors.

Except for sitting in county jail instead of prison what are the advantages of a mis-trial? Honest question, not looking for a fight.

If Baez really did care about his client, and is only worried about her life, as he said to Sunny. Then, he should get her a deal now! I realize some people think she's going to get LWOP, but I'm thinking people will feel she's been so cruel to her parents they won't let her be cruel to them anymore by stringing them along until they die. Just a thought.

In a case of this magnitude the state could opt to not retry her.

Brandi, was it you that posted the wide shot of the empty court room?

It showed monitor placement on the walls... the view point was a shot from right behind where baez and casey sit.

I was wondering if he could be watching a different monitor than the one casey is staring into?

I think the broken relationship with George is likely when he was investigating her so-called job. He wasn't drinking the kool-aid and was telling Cindy the truth.  I'm sure Casey appreciated that-NOT!  If George cheated on Cindy prior to Caylee's murder, you can bet Casey outed him and played the "good, supportive, he's-such-scum-to-you-mom" daughter.  She had a score to settle.  When Cindy took George back and it became clear that they were going to stay together, I'm sure that burned Casey.  IMO, she just went into pretend "I forgive you, Dad. We're a family." mode.  She had no other choice.  She couldn't afford to immediately dog George and lose her free ride.  So, she manipulated George into thinking all was well and forgiven, while she told exiting boyfriends that George molested her.  Backstabbing, at best.  Then, Wham!  She hits him with Dad molested me and disposed of my drowned daughter. Lovely daughter. NOT!  MOO

It burned Casey because she ran her mouth to her friends like a big shot telling them she was getting the house.

The House also came up in the jailhouse video. She said she had nothing while her parents had each other, Lee, community support and the House. Why on earth would something like a house come up in what one has when a grandchild is missing? It was so incongruous in that list, yet so typically Casey. I hope the jurors picked up on that little tell.

Another thing that made Casey look like it was all about her was when they were talking about the media not being nice. She said that when she got out, she was not going to speak to the media and oh well... In other words, she was going to punish the media by not giving them interviews. She was viewing herself as a major celeb when she got out of jail.
Her attitude was sort of similar to when Baez said he would only talk to media who would play ball with him (e.g. favorable coverage etc.). Sounds like attorney and sociopath have quite a bit in common.
