The state intends to call an FBI agent and recall an Orange County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigator as the 10th day of the Casey Anthony trial begins this morning.


State prosecutors told Chief Judge Belvin Perry on Friday afternoon they intend to call FBI fiber examiner Karen Korsberg Lowe to discuss hairs found in the truck of Casey Anthony's car when court resumes at 9 a.m. on the 23rd floor of the Orange County Courthouse. Saturday sessions of the trial are a half-day, and court will recess at 1 p.m.

I was thinking about the progression of Casey's lies throughout the life and death of Caylee.
There have been rumors she lied in high school but after Caylee's Caylee's birth it sounds like she did actually work for a period of time.  Being generous with the first year of Caylee's life and estimating time frames, I figure it is something like this:

0-1 Casey actually had a job and there was a real babysitter

1-2 1/2  Casey pretened to work and that there was a nanny.  Was Caylee with G&C when she      
             talked about the nanny?  Doubt it b/c she also said her mom watched Caylee alot.

6/15 - 6/16 Caylee dies and Casey never returns home to live.  She continues telling everyone, including friends, that Caylee is with the nanny typically doing fun things.

7/15 (?) - Casey gets caughts, continues with the nanny having fun time w/ Caylee to Caylee being kidnapped.  Admits only after being caught with no other options and no place to run b/c Cindy would follow her.  

7/15 - up till we see no further jail videos of Casey speaking - continues with the Caylee is kidnapped story. Not only continues but embellishes the story with things to make her parents (who she knows is releasing info about Caylee to the media) continue to believe that Caylee is alive.  She is clearly wanting to continue this story, i.e., I believe in my heart she is alive. This is the point that the defense theory of ugly coping falls apart.  She is going to great lengths to continue a KIDNAPPING story regarding her daughter as she sits in jail.  Coping in a way that lands you in jail when there is an explanation that would set you free doesn't make sense.  Not when your coping story is such a negative one as your child is KIDNAPPED.  

December, i think  - Caylee's body is found.  The next time we hear from a Casey representative is in Court.  Her new explanation is Caylee drowned.

I can't be sure but I would think that a coping mechanism of denial and lies of the type that the defense is claiming, wouldn't be formed PRIOR to the event that caused the need for coping (an accidental death).  Furthermore - it is clear in the progression that what she did isn't coping but rather a continuation of lies that are morphed into new lies (growing, changing and being MODIFIED) to serve whatever purpose she needs them to serve.  I would imagine the whole concept of coping would be a self-serving one (not meaning that in a negative way but rather literal) but not to the extent that the ONLY purpose of each lie is to serve an agenda.  She made up really bad lies but never any lies that didn't further her purpose of covering her bottom.  

I know this is long and a lot of it is obvious but laying it out helps me put it in perspective for myself and I hope the jury will think in a similar fashion.

Good morning All!! With all the items from the trunk brought in to evidence yesterday, liner etc, i did not see the part where investigators could see the outline of a child in a fetal position. I know some of the items were wrapped in plastic so the items that have the "death smell" could still be revealed, right? I don't think the pros would risk something not having a smell, if they were planning on using that, they would know for sure that it still does. I am hoping they will pass that can around & pull out that stained piece of carpet & the entire courtroom will be filled with that horrible smell!! Maybe people will gag or run out of the courtroom!! Just hoping!!

I am worried that the people on the jury will not be able to keep all this information straight.  There is just SO much to hear and retain and sort and weigh.  I am not confident that many folks have the attention span required.
Maybe my concerns are due to my lack of any experience with court room proceedures, but I am really worried they may lose the 'big stuff' in all the details.

Cos I ideal with with a lot of defense lawyers daily, I know a few of the secret rules. Rule #4 is " In order to use the insanity defense for your client, you yourself (the lawyer) must be sane enough to get thru a trial.
