I'm confused about why the trash would not smell like decomp if it was in the trunk. Caylee's baby smelled like the decomp. 

Good point, I am going to have to give this some thought.

The bag itself did not contain the human decomp, the leakage (stain) was in the trunk.

The baby smelled awful, according to Cindy, and it didn't have stains on it either, but was in that car. 

IMHO, it was a cloth item that was not concealed in a sealed plastic bag...dont know if that is the reason for sure

O.k., somebody walk me through this.  The trash bags we're looking at now did not smell like decomp, but did have maggots on the outside of the bag? The doll, however, did smell like decomp.  The doll had to be in the trunk, in contact with decomp. Yes?  Do we have any record of the car seat smelling like decomp?  Cindy told us that Casey's pants on the back seat next to the car seat smelled like decomp.  Given the fabric covering and padding, if it was simply an odor transfer issue, the car seat should have smelled strongly also (particularly if it was close to the pants-within a few feet).

Am I understanding correctly that this whole trash identifying thing is to establish: Casey was living large while Caylee was "missing" and there was nothing in the trash for the maggots to feed on? Clearly, there was nothing for Caylee in the trash that we've seen (but she was with "Zanny", you know).
