Why was Kiomarie not called as a prosecution witness to explain the possible  signficance of the heart shaped sticker?  This witness would have provided the jury with another piece of the puzzle that connects Casey to Caylee's remains.

HEART STICKER CONVINCES CHILDHOOD PAL THAT MOM KILLED CAYLEE
Published on: January 27, 2009

Casey Anthony’s closest childhood friend Kiomarie Torres Cruz says she was stunned when she learned that tiny Caylee had been buried with a heart-shaped sticker.

“I immediately realized it meant that Casey had buried Caylee,” Kiomarie told The ENQUIRER in an exclusive interview. “My blood ran cold.”

Casey’s burial was stunningly similar to those of pets she buried in the same spot when she was a child, said Kiomarie.

Kiomarie says she, Casey and their friend Jessica held a funeral for Jessica’s hamster, Sage, when the girls were 13.

“I never wanted to believe Casey could have killed Caylee, but it’s just too much coincidence. The place, the hearts, the bags, the blanket – it all adds up,” says Kiomarie.

“Now I’m convinced that she murdered Caylee and buried her in the same place, in exactly the same way, that we buried our pets.”

The State will officially rest tomorrow

Defense will make another motion for mistrial...it will be denied
Motion will be heard regarding acquittal instruction - I believe that is to be included in all jury instruction for verdict.
Defense begins on Thursday

That' how I took all that.

I think it's more defense kabuki theater.

I predict the answer will be a resounding

TrialNotes Trial Notes
By the way, motion for directed verdict is standard - after state rests, defense asks for acquittal based on lack of evidence. #CaseyAnthony

So does CJBP deny it at that time?

guess they want a mistrail so bad- they dont have anything - no evidence to back up what they say!

Now they are asking for an acquittal. How about just letting her plead guilty and get this over with?

AMEN!

Judge asks if defense will be prepared to make its request for a directed verdict once state rests. Def says yes. #CaseyAnthony

One of two reasons: either she's not deemed a credible witness as she sold her story to the National Enquirer for $20K or else the State will call her in their rebuttal case.

I hope this isn't a stupid question -- does the jury get to see ALL the evidence even if it wasn't discussed during the trial?  For instance, can they read all the depos, look at all the pictures, etc.? Or do they only get to see what was presented during the trial?  If I read it correctly, the State submitted over 300 pieces of evidence, so would they get to see all that?
