Just heard that we have a fire less than a mile from us.  Am waiting to hear what is going to happen. But since we live out in the country and and mostly trees around us.    

Trimm I am glad you are staying in for the rest of the day. I would have been so freaked out.

JSM glad CC is okay and getting a new phone.

The fire is almost out. Thank goodness. The local fire house is right up the road and they were right on it with a couple other units. It was to close for comfort. With everything so dry it had me worried.  Thankfully there wasn't any wind today. Or I think it would have been a different story.

That's good it is out. I was worried. Glad the fire house is close. Thank goodness no wind, that is one thing you don't need with the fire.

It really after all was said and done not to big. But way to close.  I was trying to figure our how I was going to get all the cats in my car.  The house ones no problem but all the ones we feed that live under our house and out buildings was another thing.

Glad it wasn't a big one and they got it out.

     Ex BIL works for the City, just called my coworker (his wife) and said they are starting the rolling blackouts!!!! Grand Prairie has already started them. Hope we don't get them.

Dang, that sounds good...so much better than going to work!

So I sat in on a county budget meeting...being one of the few non-union workers for the county, I feel I have to know what's going on for myself. Man, those commissioners are brutal!! I don't have the time to go on about the union employee in our office, but let's just say I AM NOT HAPPY about the $1.00 raise my bosses gave her....and nothing for me. They didn't even talk to me about it. This is catty and mean, but being a widow sure does pay! And man, does she know how to play "the game". I've never been good at that game...so I've already lost. But, i still love my job, today I helped 4 kids get child support. And how my office feels about child support is another whole post!

So, yeah, I would much rather have stayed home and eaten a pound of bacon! Wonder if any of our 'maters are ripe yet?

  That just pizzes me off Tevye, you didn't get a raise, but the union person did. It is NOT catty of you, you do your job she does hers and her family situation should have nothing to do with it. You are a better person not to play "the game". All be it, you could, but you are better than that. Plus if she is a widow, shouldn't she be collection SS or a pension?  It should be all about doing your job well. I am glad you got 4 kids child support. Great job Tevye. If I had a dollar I would give you a raise myself. 

PS... goverment work sucks unless you are union. Ask CC he will tell you
