Teyve - you're right about Billy Idol and white wedding the song. JSM made me play it as she told me, "Damn it I'm gonna wear white cause I deserve it".

Tough day on the golf course. Good thing I got the senior rate and saved 35% but the bad news is they didn't question me. :  (
What did you shoot?

Good morning Monkeys!

Trim -Sidekick sounds like such a hoot!

We're supposed to travel to see our daughter in a few days.  Hubby has a bad case of poison oak.  Got him anti-itch cream yesterday and will get an antihistamine today.  It keeps spreading. He had a sleepless night.  Was hoping it would be gone before we see our grandsons.

Have a good day Monkeys!

Bless his heart Can, maybe he should go to the doctor and get some steroids, it should clear it right up.  an angelic monkey Hope he gets better.

Good news about granddaughter!

So did you at least find out how Sidekick enjoyed Band class?

Bless his heart. Needs rest. First day at school is always a bit stressful.
I really was pleased about granddaughter not being diabetic. It runs in both sides of the family,so it's a wait and see game now.
Sidekick said he had a good class,it should get interesting. The band teacher was there when my little sister was in high school and she loved him.He is tough, but they do well in competitions.Let's hope the little beginners can hang in there.
an angelic monkey Great news about the grandaughter, can't wait for sidekick to start playing the drums.

15 Minutes of Exercise Per Day Adds 3 Years to Life, Study Finds
By MIKAELA CONLEY
Aug. 15, 2011

A little exercise goes a long way, a new study suggests. So little that 15 minutes of it per day reduces one's risk of cancer and adds an average of three years to a person's life.

Guess that means I should be dead alreayd since I don't exercise

Morning Monkeys, bad night/morning with Josef. He seemed to be doing so much better, ate loads of food. Woke me up this morning around 4 and had to run down the stairs and he had horrible diarrhea. Finally fell back to sleep, turned off the alarm and came in late. He had it again this morning. It is awful. Please keep praying for him.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open.

JSM, I know you have already thought of this but have you checked plants (other than the apricot pit)?  When Petey was little he used to play, jump up, grab at and eat this houseplant we had.  He had horrible bloody diarrhea and I was afraid he wouldn't live past his puppyhood.  Turned out to be the plant.  When I threw away the plant all of a sudden he got well.

an angelic monkey Thanks Klaas. Ever since Josef got into my chives, I don't have any plants for him to eat. The vet wasn't worried about the apricot pit because it hadn't been chewed on. I am hoping the vet calls me today, I think our next step is steroids. That helped the last time, I would rather deal with roid rage than having him have a terrible tummy.

I am so glad Petey got well after you got rid of the plant. He is such a cutey!!!!!

Sister, I hope the doctors are successful today and can find meds that will help Connie manage her pain and at the same time allow her to go about without the side affects.  I think pain management is so important toward recovery.

CAN, I'd never had dealings with poison oak or ivy until we moved to Texas...Hubs and I both came in contact a few weeks after we moved in.....Didn't have a doctor and no idea what to do.

Went to the pharmacy and showed the pharmacist the rash, she showed us what to get, the cleansers, anti-itch creams etc.  Also said it would continue to spread if we didn't make sure to cleanse it well because of the oils if not completely washed, skin, clothes etc. and that pets are one of the major culprits bringing in on their fur!

Anyway she told us to use a cleaner such as 409, Fantastic Mr. Clean .....Any of those, spray all over the rashed area and rinse well......Should stop it from spreading and we had immediate relief, after which we used the cleansers and creams.....She didn't say not to use on open sores so may want to check first if he's scratched himself raw!

Babs - thanks, you Monkeys are great!
Well that it is interesting and good to know if there is a next time.  Would never have thought of using a cleaner, such as you mentioned on skin.
Since he has open blisters not sure about using but can see the benefit in the initial stages to get rid of that potent oil.
I got buro-sol today it is an antseptic powder that you disolve in water and suggested by the pharmacist.  He puts rubbing alcohol on it - ouch- attempting to dry it up, then gold bond and calamine lotion and antihistamine tablets.
He has had poison ivy numerous times in the past and stays well clear of it if he sees it, but was not aware of poison oak and so he was slow to react to the rash.  When I first noticed it on Sunday night, it was red and angry looking, seeping and an area swollen and raised about the size of an egg.  Thus the horse was out of the barn so to speak.
he says he didnt mention it to me because he knew he was not around poison ivy.
He did pick oak leaves though, and I looked up poison oak on the net and sure enough it was the identical looking leaf.
Thanks again for your help.   an angelic monkey

They do, I hate taking them, but they do work for any kind of itch. I get a shot when I get the hives, I won't take the dose pack  I could eat a mountain gorilla and still be hungry. I refuse the dose packs as I gain at least 15 pounds when I take them. Hope what you are doing tonight works and if not get him to the doctor.  an angelic monkey

Bless his heart, he has to be miserable. Aveeno makes an oatmeal bath that is good a soothing the itch. Poison ivy/oak doesn't bother me, my brother is highly allergic to it so like Babs said, make sure he gets all the oil off if not, other parts (if you know what I mean) will get it as well. He doesn't want it down there.
