JSM.Dana show was good last night. 

We are making home made hummingbird feeders over here to go with my others.The birds are fighting for the sweet water.

JSM...love the new avvi~

Trimm..hubs and I just put out a hummingbird feeder..wish us luck with it...we put out a regular bird feeder too...
so far the only birds we are attracting is the red winged black birds..hubs says, well they have to eat too...which is right...

Morning All.

When my Mom was living in the country they put out fuschia hanging baskets every year.  Humming birds loved them.  They are attracted by red apparently. 

Cookie, the less common birds like sunflower oil seeds.  We buy then separately and mix with the premium bird seed. 
Hope you will enjoy a variety of birds soon.

Can..that is exactly what we did! it seems that more and more different kinds of birds are coming around...we also had put grass seed out in the same area and they seem to really like that!

Just learned this morning that our Monkey, Sister has recently had surgery and is not healing.

Oh, glad to hear you are getting more bird variety. lol. 
We have a bird bath on our front lawn.  Our feeder is in the back yard and this year hubs got a large pot and fills it with fresh water regularly and put it near the feeder.  It's amusing to see the birds splash and bathe in it.
On occasion we put out stale bread and we saw a bird take the bread to the water and dunk it, to soften it, we guess.  Now hubs soaks the stale bread a bit before throwing it out to them.

we actually have a marsh/protected land behind our home..there are cat tails growing and a heron or a crane visits regularly...it is fun to watch nature...baby ducks too...they are so cute..We have a bird bath back there too...birds love it...

Morning Can. I would get a fuschia hanging basket but it would die in a day.  So I guess I will never see a hummingbird.

  an angelic monkey The only birds I see are mockingbirds trying to peck Josef's head. But we do have a next on the roof of the office building of red tail hawks. Sometimes see them just perching on the roof.
