JSM's BEGGING FOR BANNING #27 6/13/11 - 8/23/11

I hope everyone is doing well and the weather is nice, hot as blazes here.

Last night I had a meltdown. I really and truly lost it and thank God CC could get through on the phone a bit to at least calm me down.

I am so worried about my Josef, his one paw looks like hamburger meat I had to carry him across the parking lot because he was just standing in the street.

I know Josef is old, I talked to a guy that owned his litter mate so I now know is is 13 about to be 14, I know he probably has some kind of immunity issue, I know his vet would tell me he thinks something is horribly wrong and it takes a while for this condition to heal on a old dog, so I don't know why I have this horrible feeling that there is something wrong. I think I am worrying myself about him so much. I know he is uncomfortable, he has to wear either boots or the cone in the car now because I caught him chewing. I almost had a wreck today because he was chewing and I looked back to yell at him and almost rear ended a truck in front of me.

I went to bed crying, I got to work and started crying and am crying now.

Thanks for listening Monkeys to my problem, I know you all are going through much more especially 4 donks and Trimm. Just needed to vent.

Love to you all. Gonna take him outside one last time, but he is wearing his booties tonight.

Jsm...Hang in there. The older dogs take longer to heal. I wish it was as simple as using a sling, I know that carrying him must be very hard. Please take care of yourself. Beela's tail gave a little wag today...see patience...   Get some rest.

  Thank you 4 Donks, I am trying to take it a day at a time. I am so glad Beela gave a tail wag that is a good sign.  On our walk yesterday I made him wear his booties, he wasn't happy at all.

I can not take any more of this bug guy. I want to scream This is such BS why is the judge allowing it?  I just don't get it. I hope Jeff crosses him and  makes it eat it.

I hope Josef is showing some improvement this morning, JSM. It sounds like it's taking time for him to heal and it's got to be so hard for you.  My heart goes out to you and your sweet boy.   Get well soon Josef!!

My hubby quoted the Serenity prayer to me when I got home tonight...baaaad day at work. I finished the prayer by saying "And God grant me the physical ability to kick anyone's ass who gets in my way!"

I think it's a valid request.....

I didn't get to see Jeff monkey punch the bug guy, but was reading commentary on the monkeys. That was great. I hope to listen to it tomorrow on the way to the rink.

Sorry you had a bad day at work and I love the ending of your Serenity Prayer!!!! Maybe the Linda, Jeff, and little Mr George need to say that prayer along with your last verse every day before court.

JSM..has the vet done blood work on Josef lately? is he in pain do you think?
my dogs feet are itching too but his does not sound as bad...sigh..wish I had some wisdom for you...

JSM, hope Joe is doing better. Our Australian cattle dog had "hot spots" which were really what the vet couldn't determine, for the last 5 years of her life. She constantly licked her paws. The vet told us she did it because the licking released some "feel good" hormone (eww!). Anyway, the only way I could clear them up (and then only temporarily) was to put her bucket on her head. Or, when I was desperate, I would take hubby's tube sock, or my old knee socks (being an old Catholic school girl, I have plenty of those!). I would cut the sock so the uncut part was long enough to cover the hot spots, then tie the rest of it around her humongous gut. It looked silly, and she still tried to lick, but we did get her some relief. We tried the boots, she would just lay down and refuse to move. Actually, I think she was part donkey!

Just be glad Joe isn't incontinent. When that happened with Bandit, I designed "doggy diapers" for her out of pull-ups. Poor dog, what coulda been worse than being "Ol Bucket Head" with a diaper on?! She was so embarrassed, she wouldn't go outside. But, she did get another 3 years with us.
