 Holy Crap it is HOT!!! Don't know what the temp is right now, just walked Josef and my shirt is stuck to me. He is eating ice right now.

Vet was in surgery, but gave my list of concerns to the PetLodge manager, she read them and told me she doesn't think Josef is ill (she has been right so far). I told her I really don't think he needs the endoscopy because if he did have some kind of weird cancer he wouldn't be with me this long and wouldn't be as active as he is. So I am getting the estimates, what the vet thinks needs to be done now and we will go from there. Had a big long pity party yesterday and last night and have decided to leave it to God and he will give me the answers. Butt tumor is coming off no matter what and the Cushing test, but the other stuff is possibly not necessary.

They will start the Mitiban on his feet tomorrow hopefully and that will get rid of the sores. He gets his stiches out next week.

Okay, that is the Josef update.

I will let you know Cookie, this stuff is potent to kill the mange. I will ask if it will help other things as well. Hope your dog gets better. When Josef just chewed from allergies, I gave him benadryl and that help a lot.

You'll make the right decision about tests and treatment.
When I had cancer and was a self pay (no insurance) the docs would order a test or meds or treatment and I would ask if it was cost effective and they were aghast. But if it cost $10,000.00 and increased my odds 1or 2% I declined it. Sometimes common sense works in your favor. Go with your gut feelings.

It's HOT here too, in California.  The only good thing about this nasty weather is that I've lost a few pounds, as the heat kills my appetite and drinking tons of water helps as well.  BTW, I thought I'd share this tip/discovery:  I took some water pills last week because my ankles were swollen (don't ask) and in addition to losing a ton of water weight, I was delighted to see that the puffy bags under my eyes almost totally disappeared!  They've been puffy ever since I started school and they were huge -- and made me look just awful.  But now they're gone!  I recommend this to anyone who suffers from puffy eyes that are not attributed to fat deposits, but rather water retention.  (But don't take water pills without checking with your doctor first as there are several reasons they can't be taken -- i.e. people with certain conditions, illnesses or diseases.)

BTW, it is ok to ramble about silly stuff like this in this thread, yes?  I know this is a really odd post, but you just don't know how happy I am to have normal and healthy looking eyes again!
