Was having a pity party last night. Too much time on my hands. Over thinking too much. Haven't heard back from Cook county yet. Will call them tomorrow about next steps, if any, about the job. Then must decide wether to get a u-haul or hire movers. Anyone know how much it costs to move 920 miles with movers to tow a car and move only about 1500 lbs of stuff?  And if u-haul, how to get stuff up three flights of stairs. Then start looking for a job in Texas and not knowing my way around. Then.....  See what I mean thinking too much. Health insurance will cost me over $600 a month. Stop thinking CC. Just need prayers now.

  Sorry about the pity party, stop over thinking CC! It will all work out. The U Haul will be the best bet I'm sure. You are in my prayers and I am here and other monkeys are here for you.

  Joe is going to be okay, the dogs can wear muzzles until they get along and you don't have to support your wife. Just cook and clean and be there for your wife is all she needs

CC I know it is hard to be without current employment..hard on the pocketbook, body and soul.  I am glad to see you were out playing golf.  That is very good for you right now.  When you play golf you are getting fresh air and sunshine, walking, and keeping your mind occupied with the game.  All of those are important to helping you keep your perspective during rough times.
Getting out and walking is super for both the mind and body..so golf is good for you right now..ya hear.

Maybe a quick trip to Texas will help renew your spirits..and give you a new look see about moving down there with your lovely wife..troubles are always best when shared...thinking of you and JSM and everything you have to look forward to as a couple.

CC - the fact you are worried about supporting your wife and what to do shows you are a wonderful man. A real man worries about the well being of their wives. I am sure God has a plan for you - if it means getting a uhaul to move then God will provide. Another good option is the POD people - they drop off the big box container, you fill it and they take it to the next place. I hear they are reasonable. But I have not checked on it. Either way, remember you have your wonderful wife and a group of slightly strange monkeys behind you!

We rented a big uhaul truck with a lift gate on the back and a towing bar for the minivan.The van was stuffed full as well as the truck and we had a little dog with us that was terrified of storms (she would try to climb to the tallest point) When we hit Alabama we ran into storms with tornadoes and the dog went crazy trying to climb up on my sister's head and when we finally made it to their road there is a 1 lane wooden bridge with restricted weight. At that point we just made a dash over the bridge because I wasn't going to drive another 20 mi. to avoid it (that would entail backing up...no way). Guess what..we're still here.  Now you know the worst that can happen and it is now funny. If you move and must rent a truck get one with a lift gate it is worth it. Maybe JSM could come up and help with the driving.

CC  Stop worrying. Things will work out. When we moved here we went with one of the pod companies. It was pretty much half of a big rig trailer. We loaded it and they came picked it up and then delivered it to  us and we then unloaded it. From Calif to here is 1200 about. It was very reasonable. Then we drove our cars here.

JSM  Josef sounds like he is feeling better. LOL

CC  seems like your wife already supports herself..your income would jut be an added bonus but your presence in Texas with  her would be the jackpot..you would eventually be moving to the same state at some point in time, why not now?  if u got another job in Chicago, it would only keep the 2 of u separated even longer...for me, it seems like a no brainer...move with your wife..you will get a job there..now is your chance...go for it...what has Chicago done for u lately?

CC everyone is giving great advice ya'll need to get out of Chicago, just think in a year and a half Obama is gonna be back there again and I'm sure he will finda way to get his grubby  mitts back into the politics there!

Moving is really no biggie, as GE said our two families hauled more STUFF out here than 10 families could use and our ol men got several years on you!  I also used a  U-fill-it they haul it.  I had a 52 foot trailer filled to the rafters and left a ton of stuff in L.A.!   

As far as unloading have JSM contact a church youth group, have many good kids here in Texas, pay them whatever and they'll have you unloaded in a flash!

Hey, I've been here 10 years and ya know each time GE and I are supposed to be at the ice rink were always late - think you gotta be a lifer to figure your way around this part of the country, but Dallas can't be any worse then Chicago if your a foreigner, just stay on Interstate 35 doin circles around Dallas and you'll find your way sooner or later!
