Question:  Do any monkeys live in or around the San Diego area?  My son is moving there and we need some guidance as to where a good place for him to live for about 2 months might be?  If ya'll know any monks that have knowledge of the area - maybe I can exchange emails with them?

It's HOT here too, in California.  The only good thing about this nasty weather is that I've lost a few pounds, as the heat kills my appetite and drinking tons of water helps as well.  BTW, I thought I'd share this tip/discovery:  I took some water pills last week because my ankles were swollen (don't ask) and in addition to losing a ton of water weight, I was delighted to see that the puffy bags under my eyes almost totally disappeared!  They've been puffy ever since I started school and they were huge -- and made me look just awful.  But now they're gone!  I recommend this to anyone who suffers from puffy eyes that are not attributed to fat deposits, but rather water retention.  (But don't take water pills without checking with your doctor first as there are several reasons they can't be taken -- i.e. people with certain conditions, illnesses or diseases.)

BTW, it is ok to ramble about silly stuff like this in this thread, yes?  I know this is a really odd post, but you just don't know how happy I am to have normal and healthy looking eyes again!

Aurelia, that is interesting to know about the puffy eye thing. My coworker's ankles have been doing the same thing in this heat, so thanks for the info I will pass it along that she may need water pills.

Sorry Caddy, I have been to San Diego once and that was as a kid. I know Babs and Greeneyes come from California, so they might have a clue. Hope you get some answers.

Morning Monkeys, took Josef to daycare, the girl got him out of the car, dropped the leash and he chased me to the other side of the car. Luckily he had his cone on and I grabbed it before he could get too me. Boy was he pizzed he couldn't take a bite out of me. Stupid me was running around the car, when I should have just jumped no the hood

I live not far but not in San Diego.  From my experience I would stay as far north in San Diego as I could.  Escondido or even as far as Oceanside.  You don't want to be right down next to the border.  We do have a couple of members that live down in the San Diego area.  SHELL is one and know there are more.  You might try posting your question in Musings as well.  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=9150.msg1453356#new

In general San Diego is a very nice city and you have nothing to worry about.  I would worry more if he were going to Los Angeles.

Klaas - Thanks so much!  I did post in musings also.

His work will be in the Scripps Ranch Blvd area.  I have no idea if that is north or south of San Diego. 

He is looking on Craigslist, but I guess I read and watch too much TV to NOT worry about him blindly renting from someone!
