Could a plea deal still be negotiated at this point in time to avoid a death penalty verdict?

Janet

Anyone?

I thought that I read on here that they can ask for a plea all the way even while time for  deliberation by the jury....

Anthony Defense Wants Convicted Kidnapper Called As Witness
Man Had Cell Phone Contact With George Anthony, Defense Says
POSTED: Wednesday, June 15, 2011
UPDATED: 1:37 pm EDT June 15, 2011
snip: According to Anthony's attorneys, Vasco Thompson, who currently lives in Orlando, had unexplained communications with George Anthony.
The defense claims that the communication occurred during the time Casey Anthony's daughter, Caylee, was reported missing. Attorneys said there were four communications on July 14, 2008, a day before the Anthony family learned that Casey Anthony's car was towed from an Amscot parking lot. Family members said the car reeked of the smell of death.
It's not known who contacted whom or if Thompson and George Anthony talked to each other.
In 1987, Thompson pleaded no contest to kidnapping

They can get a deal right up until the verdict is read.

Casey Anthony: WFTV asks if Dr. Henry Lee is leaving case over money; defense says it’s just a paperwork issue

WFTV-Channel 9 tonight explored the possibility that forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee might leave the Casey Anthony case.

“It’s all because of money problems,” anchor Martie Salt said in introducing the story at the top of the 5 p.m. newscast. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie.

WFTV’s Kathi Belich asked defense attorney Jose Baez, “Is that going to be a big blow to the defense if Dr. Lee doesn’t testify?”

 Baez walked away.

I also told them that I know more information from the trial than they do on t.v. and wondered if they watch it or have someone tell them the highlights.

I swear, they are the biggest putz's I have ever seen.  Even if George did contact a kidnapper, how does this further their drowning theory, sexual abuse, etc.?

I really doubt the judge will let her testify.  Didn't he already say that the grieving process starts after the body is found?  Wouldn't she have to talk to KC?
