Petition for habeas corpus was denied Van der Sloot
Continue investigating the case.

The petition for habeas corpus filed by legal representatives of the confessed murderer of the young Peruvian Stephany Flores, Joran Van der Sloot, was rejected by the Constitutional Court (TC), after his defense adduce that the rights of the Dutch were violated in the course of the investigations.

According to RPP, the purpose of this request would have been the suspension of the fiscal and police investigation of the case.

"The Constitutional Court rejected on the grounds of inadmissibility, the demand for habeas corpus for Joran Andreas Petrus Dutch Van der Sloot, prosecuted for the crime of homicide and others, who alleged a violation of their rights," said a text issued by that body to the media.

Birmingham, Ala (WIAT)  An American tourist disappears on a vacation trip to Aruba.  The man she was last seen is the prime suspect.  But there's no body.  Does that mean there's no legal case?

That's how it played out more than six years ago when Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway vanished on a graduation trip to Aruba.  She was last seen leaving an Oranjestad bar with local teen Joran van der Sloot.  Despite repeated questioning by Aruban authorities...and despite a variety of later-denied versions of what happened that night...van der Sloot was never charged.

An eerily similar scenario is playing out now in the case of Robyn Gardner of suburban Washington, DC. Perhaps the biggest difference is the zeal with which Aruban authorities are pursuing the investigation involving her travelling companion, Gary Giordano.  His lawyers have even blamed the Holloway case for the intensity of the efforts against their client.

But, so far, those investigative efforts are reaching the same result as in Natalee's case....nothing tangible.  A search of the island by cadaver dogs this week has turned up nothing.  Here's the Associated Press report from Aruba.

Peru court nixes Van der Sloot habeas corpus bid

(AFP) – 5 hours ago

LIMA — Peru's constitutional court on Saturday rejected a bid for release of Dutchman Joran Van der Sloot pending investigation into charges he killed a young local student last year.

Van der Sloot, who is accused of May 2010 murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores, claimed in seeking release that his procedural rights were violated.

The court, however, found his complaint without merit.

Van der Sloot also remains the lead suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, a US tourist who was 18 when she went missing in Aruba in 2005.

In the Peru case, he had initially pleaded guilty, but then claimed that his confession was extorted. He then said he killed Flores under extreme emotional anger after Flores accessed files about Holloway on his computer.

Flores was killed on the same day -- May 30 -- of Holloway's disappearance five years earlier in Aruba. Flores was found dead in a Lima hotel.

Van der Sloot was twice arrested in the Holloway case and spent three months in jail but was never charged. Holloway's body has never been found.

I read that "the two dogs" is a bad translation and should be "the Honda", but IDK
It would sure make more sense.   Two dogs never made sense to me.

Some of the Joran supporters have tried to claim bad translations .  In this case, it was a statement made by Jan van der Straten.  He was saying what Joran told him.  Van der Straten is dutch and would have given his statement in Dutch so it wouldn't be translated from Pap to Dutch then to English.  It is a simple translation from Dutch to English and these words are pretty straight forward.  I don't think it was literally dogs though, I think it was Deepak came with two friends or two others or two of his lowly friends.
