Minister asks RST for assistance  

ORANJESTAD – Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP) has asked the Detective Cooperative Team ( RST ) to help with the investigation on the ‘Namdar bribery letter’.  The minister hopes to get faster results with the help of RST ; especially because the governor is also mentioned in the case.  

Croes says that he has advised the government to include RST in the case.  The minister also hopes that this way ‘the people wouldn’t think that the investigation is not objective’.  If it is a matter of bribery, then heads will have to roll, especially if government officials or ministers are involved.   Croes also expects Aruban detectives to go to the United States to further investigate Namdar; when, he doesn’t know.  He says that he hasn’t received any request for duty travel yet.  

He also doesn’t know whether the OM considers the letter of Namdar as authentic.  Edwin Duijneveld, the lawyer of Michael Williams said last week in an interview with Amigoe that Justice considers the letter authentic, that the investigation has started already, and that besides Williams, also other people are involved.     “I do not know whether the investigation has started earlier, because I was not on the island.  As far as I am aware of, it started when the governor became involved with the case”, said Croes.
