Despite all the defense atty jokes there are pretty strict ethical guidelines that all attorneys have to follow.  That is despite the actual court order in this case.  There is no excuse for this.  Almost all states require an ethics exam (professional responsiblity) along with passing the bar to practice law.

That exam is called the MPRE and I know it is required in Florida because my husband just became licensed to practice law in Florida and he had to take it. Also, most states have ethics boards that make sure the attorneys there are following ethical guidelines.

yup, its called the board of professonal responsibility in my state.  That is who handles the complaints against attys.  In my state you can look up and see who has been disciplined and for what.  Usually I see a lot of monetary issues in regards to suspended licenses.
