Good morning bb and peaches aned anyone else here Smile

FWIW I found these definitions for compel at Dictionary.reference.com:

com·pel      /kəmˈpɛl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kuhm-pel] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation verb, -pelled, -pel·ling.
–verb (used with object) 1. to force or drive, esp. to a course of action: His disregard of the rules compels us to dismiss him.
2. to secure or bring about by force.
3. to force to submit; subdue.
4. to overpower.
5. Archaic. to drive together; unite by force; herd.
–verb (used without object) 6. to use force.
7. to have a powerful and irresistible effect, influence, etc.

and this is my home dictionary for compel:
to cause to do or occur by overwhelming pressure

I asked my friend and she asked her boss and she said the following:

CBS is asking them to provide the information that CBS initially requested.

They have made the requested already and the Kalpoes did not provide it (they are making excuses).  So now they are forcing them to provide the inforamtion.

Other stuff is additional documentation.

There is also chatter at BFN regarding the motion to quash in the wrongful death case.

Looks like the motion to quash hearing has been moved back AGAIN to May now. Hope it won't be the two weeks I'm in France.

Something strange is going on.  The motion to quash has been continued again -- Cremer has withdrawn his application to specially appear pro hac vice and there's an order for plaintiff to give notice.   There's also an application for another attorney to "associate with" the case on behalf of K2 ...and the docket sheet doesnt reference special appearance.    This s purely speculation but I wonder if K2 actually inadvertently made an appearance in the case by filing that application ... that would give the court personal jurisdiction over them and it would explain why there is an order for plaintiff to give notice.   Can anyone get those documents?

Do we know anything about this??

Buckeye ... what does "motion to quash" mean and ... how does it relate to Deepak and Satish's lawsuit again Dr. Phil?

Thank you.

Not the Dr. Phil suit but the wrongful death suit.  Think it's an odd CA term for motion to dismiss (maybe denying service so motion isn't honored??).  I really don't know.

Motion to quash is pretty routine.  They are just asking that the wrongful death suit be dismissed against them.  Just about every suit at least asks for this because I judge can't even do it unless they ask.  Not that the judge in this case is going to do any such thing but he couldn't even if he wanted to unless they ask.

So never hurts to ask and I am sure their attorney will give lame excuses why they should not be charged with wrongful death and then the judge will reject the motion to quash and the suit will go forward.

Now I am going to reread the post from Atticus at BFN and see what exactly he is saying because I think by adding an attorney they are some how admitting jurisdiction?  I wonder how that works!

Are Kalpoes changing attorneys?  Is that what this post from Atticus is about?  Does anyone know who this additional or new attorney is?  Hope we can get the docs and actually read them, not just the titles.

That would surely help.

Klaas,
Yes, it is.  You put the little balls in that pipe on the top.

Isn't a paintball gun what Joran killed his dog with?  That Val is a real card--NOT!  How dare he post something violent like that considering two members of his immediate family are or have been suspects in premeditated murder.

But then the van der Sloots are the only people I know who when under suspicion of murder start pouring concrete!  Typical Sloot behavior, unfortunately.

Run, dogs, run!

Thanks for clarifying Anna.  I'm not sure what Atticus meant (but he's always been pretty good), that's why I posted it here.

Klaas

Val's gun does seem to have a hopper on the top (for paintballs?).

Angie,
I work and lurk. Not much conversation on the case lately that I've chimed in on because I've been pretty busy. I did spend some time looking at the chicago videos a few days ago. Saw more face reflections in the vehicle window. Now I need software that can capture video frames so I can convert the frames to jpg's.

The beer is good. It's a Belgium wit (wheat) beer that I made at my wife's request. She and her friends like it. It'll make a good summer beer. It's light gold in color and has orange and coriander flavoring.

I haven't seen Lalas post in a while, what's up with that? Anyone know? She asked me a question and I have an answer, but she's nnot been posting as far as I can tell.

Ado, I see you are brewing beer.  My DH made some Barley Wine a few years ago.  It had to sit and develop for several months but boy was it tasty.  Alcohol content was pretty high too. Nice taste, nice buzz.  Everything you'd want in a beer.

We haven't brewed any beer in a long time.  It's kinda fun.

adoronrom ... I have been watching for ya.  LOL

I would appreciate if you would expand on the following post that you submitted to the forum the other day.

1.  What pieces of the puzzle fit together to create an image that implies Paulus was not a partipant in the events of that fateful morning?

2.  What pieces of the puzzle convince you that Paulus had a connection with Natalee on the evening of May 29, 2005 at the casino?

Thank you.

Janet

I know this is way off from what most think. I'm just putting the puzzle together with the pieces that seem to fit adn throwing away the pieces that don't fit.

The only pieces of this puzzle that we KNOW fit is that both Paulus, his son, and the brother's Kalpoe know EXACTLY what happened to Natalee that night...

Just getting info that Taco Joe lost the Melanie McGwire case. She was convicted of 1st degree murder and three other counts. Picked this up from a blog, "Melanie cryed in Joe Tacopina's arms...."

Aruba Opens Terminal for Private Jets

Aruba Opens New Airport Terminal for Private Jets in Bid to Attract More Upscale Travelers

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Aruba has opened a new airport terminal for private jets in a bid to attract more upscale travelers to the Dutch Caribbean island.

The new terminal, which officially opened Friday, replaces a makeshift terminal that Aruba Airport Authority N.V. installed to begin offering faster service for private planes in 2005.

The US$1.2 million (euro880,000) facility, which has its own customs and immigration counters, is operated by Houston, Texas-based Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. under an agreement with the airport authority.

Peter Steinmetz, managing director of the Queen Beatrix International Airport, said the number of flights increased 21 percent in the first quarter of 2007 compared to the same period last year.

Tourism Minister Edison Briesen said last week that Aruba was recovering from the negative publicity surrounding the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway in 2005 and is on track for a good tourism year.
