Stay, that charge stands on it own.   In other words there is no lesser degree for each count of Lying to a Law Officer she is charged with - the jury simply decides if she is guilty of it or not.

Is it because he lied, or because he didn't have permission to testify? I don't understand..

When you are employed by the US military, and DOD is the military, then you are forbidden from owning a business, or another employer, no moonlighting at all!  Rodriquiz had to have known this, these DOD contracts are extremely strict...

AAH , hence the blurting of not getting paid his first time.

doesn't matter if he was being paid or not. He cannot provide any profession services, paid or unpaid to anyone else, not even the courts...His azz belongs to DOD and no one else...I wouldn't be surprised if dr Rod loses his job, despite the fact his testimony was halted, and at the very least he will be severely reprimanded and it will go on his permanent record...

PS DOD will probably launch their own investigation into claims Dr Rod made on his resume - like being c0-founder of the body farm.

Add another to the list of KC's victims, although i don't feel bad for this one, it's his own damn fault!

The timing in regards to the exposure of Rodriguez embellishment of his credentials is very suspicious.

According to JP's clarification of why Rodriguez returned home ... it was Baez that allowed him to depart citing that he did not want Rodriguez to lose his job and another witness was qualified to testify.  JP stated that without Baez's approval he could could have detained Rodriguez and ... prevented him from leaving.

Thanks Capp! So, there will be jail time for that, right? I mean, even if (BIG IF) she's found innocent (SMACK MY FINGERS FOR EVEN TYPING THAT) Surely she will be found guilty of those charges?

I thought JP said if he had caught wind that the good Dr Rod was fleeing his juridiction he would have slapped something on him to hold him in jail until they got all the facts.  I need to relisten, but pretty sure he was shocked that Rod left without the Judges permission.

Might be different if working at a university under a grant.

Recieving a federal grant can not be compared to a civilian contracted by the Department of Defense...
