What is sad is that right now, no matter how anybody looks at it, is not the right time for somebody to have an epiphany & say they want a DNA test to prove relation. No matter what the Anthony's have done, no matter how any of us might feel towards them, it's still a fact that their granddaughter is dead and their daughter is getting ready to receive a dp or more jail time. This lady's son has been dead since 2007. Her ex had a sex change op & is in a Florida jail. It's already a circus. Why not just show some class and at least wait until after the trial & the penalty phase? I just don't get it.

I like how Oprah's sister handled their situation. She didn't shop around to the media. She didn't run her mouth to anybody. She said she felt it was personal family business. She showed dignity, respect & total class. It's a shame Everybody can't be like her.

Playing devil's advocate, how long, IF Caylee IS her grand daughter, has this woman been denied her grand daughter?

Also, how long has Caylee been gone?

Perhaps there has been a financial issue for this woman.  Now since this is in the news as it is she can find someone to help champion her cause and get some answers.
We just don't know what, if any contact has been made previously with the Anthony's, she attempted.

When, if any, would be the right time to address this parentage?
Maybe there is no right time, but her son is dead, and perhaps her granddaughter is dead. Aside from having knowledge of a (possible) granddaughter she never knew (and never will whether she gets confirmation of this or not), and that her son would never get to know, what good would it do in the grand scheme of things?  She can't sue Casey.. there is no money to be given. Casey is indigent.  Nobody else can give her answers, because the only person who can say who the dad is (if she even knows for sure) is Casey.  Cindy and George can certainly facilitate any DNA tests for what their samples are worth, if they want to help her.. but obviously they have no desire to do that.  I thought I read that they wanted to keep her at arm's length.

The only thing I can possibly think of it may give her comfort to know, IF Caylee was his daughter, that the two of them are together.

If this guy is the father, this would be the "kernel of truth" Casey told about Caylee's dad.  Didn't she say her father was killed in a car accident?

she never mentioned His name? but did mention a car wreck. there was 2 other guys that were in a wreck too? she knew?
IIRC, she said Caylee's father's name was Eric, he was from OH and died in a car accident.

She also claimed Zanny had Caylee.
zanny got in a wreck too.

Wait...didn't Casey say that right around the time Caylee was born?  Not two years later???

That's a very good point. I just know I'd show a little compassion and wait. Her son's been dead since 2007 & Caylee since 2008. They're together in heaven whether related or not. I sorta hope her son really is Caylee's father bc then it'll at least be the end of this fiasco. Of Csylee's dad is actually still living, he could capitalize off it for years...not that he would, just sayin'.

I agree.

Maybe with the passing of time ... Cindy and George will have a change of heart.  I do think that Michael's mother should use a little decernment.  The timing is all wrong.  The Anthony are dealing with enough right now.

I tried to follow the family tree from that obit and got a headache...(it was mentioned on NG I think that his father had a sex change operation and it is now a woman).  So beyond that, it seems he has another set of step parents...and so forth.  My opinion is that this woman is a kook...her son lived in Tenn. & worked for a moving company.....another one wants to cash in on the gravy train.

*But I will say, that I think if I were her, and I really believed Caylee were my granddaughter, I would want to know.  And I think I'd feel like I had the right to know.  But I would wait til after the media circus died down.. for a number of reasons.

So would I, but the money she will make now for her story vs later that could be the reason behind her stepping up now of all time shes had 4 yrs to step up.

The last thing we or anyone else needs right now is another  glory hound added to this mix...I say the Lady is nuts.......I know if I had a son that died and thought for one tiny second that he left a little part of him on this earth somewhere I would have been all over this in a minute, doesnt make sense that this boy mentioned to his Mother that he had a daughter and she didnt do an thing about it till now, I mean really, I would think that would be the first thing she would done....I flat out dont believe her!!

Geez, this was another one of those days where I missed everything and have tried to glean what I can from this thread.  But after 40 pages...fudge it.  I'm now watching the videos...Baez is badgering George.  Baez is fumbling.  It's painful to watch.

Can I call an OBJECTION to Baez?  On the grounds that he is not relative in any sense?  An objection to his place in the universe?  An objection to his claim as a lawyer?  An objection to his attempt to pass for a human being?  An objection to the fact that he is able to breathe air into his lungs and Caylee cannot?

I OBJECT!!!!!!!!!
