I can understand that alotta people are not sure what is going to happen in this case, trust me I'm the world's biggest cynic, but we have been begging, literally begging anyone who would listen, for almost two years for them to do something - anything and now they are...I think we should give them one final chance to get it right.

If they dont, there will be plenty of time to talk about all the stuff they did wrong. I for one am happy about the new developments and I hope that Beth, Dave and Matt get the answers they seek.

Me too

I agree.

If this wasn't happening today, or ever - we could complain.

Dutch investigators search yard of one-time Holloway suspect

http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20070427/API/704271204

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Dutch police who traveled to Aruba to investigate the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway searched the yard of a one-time suspect Friday, the Aruban prosecutors' office said.

Using thin metal rods and shovels, police and forensic investigators churned up the earth outside the home of Joran van der Sloot, the last person known to have seen Holloway alive before she vanished in May 2005 during a school vacation on the Dutch Caribbean island.

"The investigation has never stopped and the Dutch authorities are completely reviewing the case for new indications," Vivian van der Biezen, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, told reporters gathered outside the home.

She said roughly 20 investigators arrived from Holland on June 16 (must mean Apr 16), but that she could not say why they were searching the property. She did not know how long they planned to stay.

The prosecutors' office said in a statement that, "the team has indications that justify a more thorough search." It did not provide further details.

Wouldn't they need another search warrant to do the search.  If so when was the warrant issued and I wonder who the judge was.  I have my doubts that Paulus did not know about this search.

I hear ya, San. Seems old Paulus has his fingers on everything else, so I am sure he was given the heads up that there would be a search.

I actually hope he did not know. Since the Dutch are supposed to be so close mouthed about the investigation, maybe, just maybe they did not even let the ALE know ahead of time.
Hey Klaas did you forget the reminder. Probably not but just in case

When I logged in this afternoon, I felt very shaky when I read the news.
I do want to think in a positive fashion and not dump on those Dutch investigators.
We all have to pray that this is it and the families will get some rest and some peace.
And that God will shine his light into the souls of All.

I know you are right, Rob.
It's just so very hard to trust them due to their past history.

ArtColley- I dont trust anyone involved in this case. I've been gone from this forum for awhile, but I have not been gone from the case. There are alotta people out there that are discussing this case and most of them feel exactly like you do, only we use different language to describe them...LOL

Trust - as you know - is earned and they have not earned much and trampled on the good will of the American People.

2NJS,
I know, that was a little bit of nothing.   I must say from this morning when I turned on my computer til now, I have came down about 1,000 notches.  I haven't had that let down feeling as personally as most of you, but I am beginning to know how it feels. Evil or Very Mad  Twisted Evil  Evil or Very Mad
Natalee's poor family.........how in the world do they cope as well as they do?

Lets see if I can get this "quote" right! Very Happy

Sam, I hope he didn't know also, but knowing the incestuous climate of that Island, I am not so sure he was totally "in the dark" about it.

I am curious as to where Anita and the "boys" are while this is going on.

ALso, I am not clear on whether the investigators have left for good, or just for the night?
If for good, why the jackhammer and tents?
I am just not clear on this point.

 You're not alone Art..  Wink

Hey, Angie!!!

I was going to e-mail you with the news, but Rob said that he
had already called you!!!!

Can you believe this?

I can tell it's going to be an all-nighter for me!!!

  HI Patti Smile
Thanks sweety and I appreciate it!
After gettin calls at work.. I so did not want to be there.
I talked to a family member today as well.. she is away.. and asked if I would keep her posted of any news. I left her a voice mail last night about the case remaning open.. and her not long after Rob called me.. she returned my call.. passed along that info to her. After I spoke to her.. I had to go in the backroom.. I blubbered.. lol

Update: Contrary to some media reports the investigation never stopped. The judge of instructions lead the search today. Extra specialists from the Netherlands came to help out their colleagues already in Aruba in this part of the revision of the case.

Paul v/d Sloot when he came to the house find it that he did not want to be part of the circus again and left the team to do the searches they wanted.

The search is part of the investigation in the case of Natalee Holloway. It was a thorough search again of the house and property based on documentations and statements (6.000 pages dossier) that prompted this search.

Well why the heck did he leave the courthouse this morning if he didnt want to see what was going on anyway? the truth here is his ass is being questioned and they can spin it anyway the way!

This is exactly the reason I think they are FOS with this search.   No way in hell would he have left if he knew they weren't on his side.

I don't want to so too negative about this and put a damper on everyones hopes so I am not going to comment anymore on this tonight.

I totally agree Rob, this is time for positive thinking and projecting, not negative feelings expressed.   I am so happy they are taking some action to resolve this.

SAN - I think MF is FOS.  MF is only posting partial information.  This morning he posted PVDS was in custody and that Joran would be brought in soon too.  MF is all over the place.

IMO, it's still a good thing what they are doing.

San  I think that's just MF's spin on it. I honestly don't think old Paulus HAD a choice whether to stay or leave! Laughing

At this point, it does not matter to me if Paulus is detained or whatever they want to call it. He and any communications to Joran are being contained.
I am thinking of praying for the Sloots also. But I want to be really careful what I pray for for them. They need some peace also, but they will not get it if they keep on the same path they have been on.
BT Girl is probaly better at articulating these missives to God. I was trying to make a deal earlier with God. I am going to go and look at the clouds and try to be positive.

Thanks Art... I missed you too and saw you posting and was thinking about you when you were not doing so well..

In Fact - I missed everyone.. even the those that I didn't always get along with or agree with...

No one is going to agree or always find someone charming at all times in this case... if you care about people and Justice there are going to be times when we don't all get along. It's just a fact of this case. It doesn't mean I don't respect or care about someone, only that our ideas and opinions differ.

remember when Deetch said 'the fighting is so intense because the issue is so intense'? well it's so true...
