How are all our friends in the northeast doing?  I was watching the news coverage of the flooding and it looks devastating and some rivers would not crest until today.

Is everyone accounted for and doing okay?

Soggy.

My uncle lives in Rockville MD however and they are in trouble...

WOW lots to ponder... I don't know the answer to any of that... I will see if I can do some research later...

Thanks Mrs Red.

My only legal background is Business Law -- and that is only from college and the CPA exam Embarassed

So the 'Hague Convention" is not anything I'm familiar with.

There is also a post that says something to the effect that NYC is the landlord of the UN -- and that's part of the 'jurisdiction' test.

I have saved many of these posts -- because if there is ANY truth to them -- it is very comforting. If there is ANY truth to them -- there is still a chance for Justice for Natalee.

I think I was watching the governor of PA last night and he was saying the film that was being shown was nothing compared to the damage in the northern part of the state.  Must be horrible!

I live in hurricane country and the flooding is always the worst of it and takes the most lives.

I feel for you guys up there!

Easy -- I just came back (yesterday) from a trip to Baltimore from Miami (for a family funeral).

Weather is very frightening at the moment. I am staying in touch with my family from Philadelphia up to Connecticut for status.

I was thinking of OSpainter who says they are from Baltimore -- has anyone heard from this poster?

I am heading to the Boston area in 2 weeks for a family wedding -- I'm hoping this craziness has settled down by then.

And then there is ALWAYS the craziness of summer weather in South Florida.

I have to admit it actually all sounds correct.... but it is certainly not anything the firm I work for has any dealing with.... I will see if I can ask one of our attys that would know...

I don't think Rita's transcript was posted ... if it was...  Embarassed

I am wondering why all of the sudden this is being called into question.... reeks of tacky joe... IMO

when Joran was let out of jail and fled to the Netherlands, didnt the judge put some travel restrictions on him that he was only allowed to travel within the Dutch Kingdom?  Am I not remembering this correctly?

If this is the case, then what in the hell was he doing in the US in the first place?  New York is not part of the "Dutch Kingdom" (whatthehelleverthatis)

That Hague convention stuff sounds pretty intriguing.  I'd love to see that smug goon escorted into court by NATO police.

which actually makes Sharon's postings from Michelle's site sound like they are certainly correct!

That's what I thought too.  Who knows?  The truth is pretty elusive down there.

My sister TOOK mine!  I have no cookbook.  Should have ordered more.

Well, if we do another one, can include some of the best from the first one maybe??  Or if I need a good recipe can ask in the lounge as somebody always has one.  Monkeys will always come through!

 Cool

.

Going to read Sharon's posts on The Hague Convention but I think part of the whole European Union thingy is that if you have access to one country, you have it to all and can move from one to another throughout the union.

Maybe that is how the Sporter is able to bandy about at will??

Not sure. . . . . .

This was another VERY interesting post about the subject from a comment at Michelle's site.

This arm of the NY bar that has been formed to express opinions ..... basically says that Taco Joe is out of luck if he thinks that 'forum non conveniens' applies.

The New York City Bar Association don't support the Forum Non Conveniens. Here is the link, http://www.abcny.org/Publications/reports/index.php?type=subject

Goodmorning All!

Yes, originally Joran had restrictions but within a day, the judge lifted those restrictions.
