Why the need to "animate" Natalee -- whether negatively or not.  Why ascribe detail and clutter to story...?

Some who lie do so w/ flourish -- embellishing stories w/ details to make them sound believable.  The motivation to lie about casino approach w/ Ruth (not Natalee) seems sinister.

Why describe a sexual act that never happened -- what would be his motivation, except to cover for someone/something else.  Why would he put himself initially, in the middle of the action, when "something bad happened"?

I found some interesting info about the Jane Doe episode.  For one thing there's a June 24 polis report where Joran claims Jane Doe performed oral sex on him in a car that was being driven by a friend- the exact same thing he originally claimed happened with Natalee.  It appears that when Joran falsely claimed it was Natalee whose money he won back in the casino, instead of Ruth, that wasn't the only instance where he was taking something that actually happened with a different girl and attributing it to Natalee.  Assuming of course that he wan't making that up about Jane Doe too.

3.  The children of the elders assist in supplying tourist girls
4.  Natalee was picked out by Paulus in the casino
5.  JK2 drugged Natalee and raped her in the vehicle
