why would they dig up the driveway?

Well, I think it's safe to say they're working on specific information provided by someone who claims to be "in the know" here.  Even considering how dumb they've proven to be in the past, you wouldn't think they'd go to the trouble of digging up someone's yard flying blind...

Or, would they?

did you hear Martha say that investigators are right now digging up the driveway???

Maybe they saw something with their xray equipment that can see through concrete/cement?!?!

I can't imagine them digging up the driveway without something telling them they should/.

Ohhhhhhhh. MSDARTH: something about that struck me funny. I'm with you standing and scratching my head over the driveway dig. I can just picture you and I staring at that house and wondering if they know why they're digging up Paulus's driveway!      

OH , I'm getting the screaming giggles, here.

Oh, Paulus? Home Sweet Home just turned into a scene from the Money Pit! Can you imagine how his day's going?? "Oh, BTW, Paul. Don't come flying home after work tonight. That last step's a doozy!"

[Anna,  that is what I mean. they are searching the front yard, near the main gate.  we were told it was the area off of Jorans bedroom in the back by the pool and the storage shack.   I am very confused.  Were they focusing on 2 areas of the yard?

I hope they are searching the entire yard but this is the back corner between Joran's sty and the fence where those trees are located.  Not the front in the first photo of what appears to me to be three guys drilling.  

This would be VERY close to the next door house.  I am still stuck on Robots analysis from last night I guess and everybody else has moved on so I will, too.

Guess no one interested in photo analysis so will give it a rest.

It doesn't bother me at all that Paulus was allowed back into the house after the search the first day.  It would seem silly, to me only, that they ban him from a crime scene where a family of five and all their trashy friends have been living for two years.

If it were a fresh crime scene, then it would bother me greatly but anything Paulus could do, he has long ago already done.  Anything he can't undo is still left or he would destory it as well.

Sort of horse/barn door thing.

Off to listen to the next news report then to work and lurk. . . .

I'm interested in the photo, but my eyes are not that great and I can't make out what it is.

Re:  Paulus being there, my only concern is that Dutch LE might find him in the way while they are trying to do their job.

Altho, at the same time, possibly if they had a behovioral specialist with them, it might be a plus - keep a watch on him and see how he reacts to what they do.

Yeah, I hear you Anna.  What you say does make sense.  I guess the thing that does in fact bother me is the influence he seems to have with the LE on that island, and how that may affect the impartial work that has to be done in conducting a fair search.  Hopefully, the Dutch authorities aren't as gullible as the Aruban ones...

actually, I'd be standing there probably with you  there by me, not scratching my head, but cheering on the ones doing the digging,  and screaming, Hey Paulus,  how do you like the USA now????

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but wasn't the pool already there the night of Nat's disappearance?  If so, how could they have buried/concelaed her there?

I'm glad this 'two year' thing has been cleared up... until they decide to change their minds again anyway...

It is near impossible to get a straight answer on this one and doesn't seem to be a law after all.

Joran could theoretically remain a suspect for the rest of his life and rightfully so. I know he will be a suspect IF new evidence is presented, but that's about it. If they find nothing I believe this will be over.

On to Paulus, if they believe Natalee was at this house, and it appears they do by the refrigeration truck, they need to revoke KJ's Letter freeing Paulus from suspect status and haul his butt back in.

He himself places himself at that house during that night.. no one else did it, he DID. They can't say they're looking for Natalee at the VDS home and not have Paulus as a suspect!!!!!!

That makes me skeptical... but then again, I don't understand their convoluted system.
