Translating an entire book word for word would be quite a job.  Not sure I even want to know what it says that badly.  The summary is quite enough!  I would like to know how Joran phrases certain things once in a while.

Mostly its just an ego trip for him.  He certainly has a problem in that area.

For my money, Ramm is doing a fine job of summarizing.  I do not feel obligated to read every single word of that juvenile delinquent.  Synopsis is plenty.  What is readily apparent is that JVDS being a spoiled problem child is nothing new.  Imagine my surprise.

Of course. The ciivil matter has nothing to do with the criminal matter. And guilt or innocence won't be decided in the civil trial, if there is one. But the fact of the Kalpoes' being suspects will certainly be introduced by Paramount as a way of undermining their credibility. That's why they've asked for all those billions of pages of documents relating to the case.

Again, the manipulation of the tapes will be a core issue. One side will argue that it did happen, and the other side will argue that it didn't. And they'll both haul in their battery of experts to "prove" the point either way.

Another reason Paramount is eager to go to court on this is that they know their chances of getting a jury that watches Dr. Phil and adores him is pretty great.

Didn't Anita say a statement was taken by Joran but it was retracted because of the time limit of interrogating a suspect.  What was the exact time she talking about.

Dayhiker- I do believe you are correct.. the KLPD would not be doing what the are if they did not have serious intentions.

They have had the case for 8-10 months roughly, and unless they just recently spotted something that made this all happen, I'm skeptical because of the length of time it took to get them to Aruba.

If we know what we know.. they must know a ton more that would make it almost impossible to have waited this long.

I'm hopeful that something will happen, but I won't be surprised if nothing does.

Having the case that long, Rob, I doubt they'd have bothered to come to Aruba if they were planning on closing it. Unlike the Arubans, they wouldn't have put their reputation on the line if it was a foregone conclusion. There seems to be a very real distaste for the Van der Sloots now in Holland now that everyone is aware of the lies (thanks to de Vries). Just a gut feeling on them already having it in the can but like you I'll believe it when the perps are behind bars.
