I don't want to be a debbie downer and pour salt in the prosecution's wounds on this message board because they all did a great job! But I personally REALLY wanted them to do 2 things! State the obvious in closing by pointing out that CASEY was Caylee's mother and she had to take responsibility for her actions instead of blaming everyone else. And also I wished they would've brought Caylee in the courtroom to bring out at least a little emotion. Where were the pictures, the video of her singing, all that? Unless it wasn't in evidence? I don't know I'm just rambling. I could sit here and talk about all the ifs-ands-&-buts but it won't do any good.

I'm just so lost right now
CJ....I know...I think we are all mad/sad/lost

As I said earlier....these people also vote.

My husband is Irish from a long time Northern Irish family and his first remark when I told him the verdict is "that is the way it it done when someone gets to the jury & this is obviously what happened here."
Turbo, my sweet, I kept thinking the same thing.  The jury's verdict makes no sense, and their adamant refusal to talk to the media makes me think someone got to them.  We know what a sleaze bag Jerry Lyons was...Who knows what they might have been threatened with.  (It would make me feel marginally better than thinking they are just ignorant fools.)

My hubby had a drs. appt...orders were to TEXT him...I did...and he was mad he missed it.  He is retired LE (not from FL) and cannot believe what happened.  He said ICA is guilty.  Hubby thought the Prosecution team was great.

My brother is LE in an other state....she is guilty BUT he said the prosecution should have put on more of the evidence they had....why didn't they?  He told me last night, she would get a hung jury or walk because prosecution needed more evidence.

Same verdict, just 2 different thoughts on the evidence!

Some juries want it all in black and white, they don't want to do any investigating.  I bet there are some jurors that did not want to vote this way...they were pressured.  JMO

Your brother was right, should have put on more evidence but the judge wouldn't let them, not enough party pictures, no smell o'death can, more stuff wasn't presented because he didn't let the prosecutors let it in as it would "predjudice my client" according to Mr BaASS.

Alternate is on HLN now, saying no evidence of dead body in trunk WTF???

I believe they got such dumb people on that jury that they were not intelligent enough to understand what was presented. If you noticed they had NO college graduates on there.
I agree.
I'm also thinking no jury should be sequestered.
They need to be exposed to all the realities of the case.
They should be informed not misinformed.
If the jury would have been picked from Orlando where the crime was committed, we would be partying today and not the defense.

My hubby is still texting me that he told me so. He will be lucky to get dinner tonight. Where is that frozen dinner with frostbite? I told him when he comes home we are not to talk about it.

Sad to hear about Jeff Aston but I don't blame him for retiring. You could tell his everything went into this case and he knows justice wasn't served. The pros team did good though especially Linda and Jeff.

Jeff makes peanuts compared to what he could have been making in private practice. He stayed this long because he had a cause, he cared about seeing justice get done. I don't blame him one iota for giving up on a system that has so very obviously failed, and failed in such a spectacular manner. It 's time he finally gets compensated equal to his skill and qualifications in the private sector.

I agree Scatty..Jeff will be well compensated wherever he goes..and these cases like Caylee's really take their toll on the Prosecutors and their families lives.

I think that OC is losing one heck of a prosecutor..and they need them ..but Jeff personally will be better off working in private practice.  He'll be able to pick and choose his cases and he'll make a much better income...and have more time for his family.

There was a high school teacher on there, wasn't there?  At any rate, I don't have a college degree, but I understood everything clearly...  but I get what you mean.

IMO this is yet another case that screams the need for professional jurors.  They gagged at a gnat & swallowed a camel.   I agreed with Scott Peterson's verdict, but several members his jury were downright scary.

Never in my life have I ever been this dissatisfied with the legal system. Thinking about how Natalee's case was handled in Aruba, thinking of little Jonbenet & how that was handled, I just don't know what to say.

3 trash bags
Laundry bag
3 pieces of duct tape on the skull
1 piece of duct tape found in the scene
Body eaten by bugs & animals
Bones dragged & chewed on by animals

Something is wrong.

I have a name for these Jurors!

"SELFISH LAZY SELF SERVING NON CARING UNJUSTIFIED"

Please add Cowards to that name!

They are too afraid to answer 1 question from the media......because they are ashamed, or they sure as hell should be!
They can think all they want that they can safely remain anonymous by JP ordering their names not be released......they better enjoy the few hours they have, cause the media will find them in short order. Neighbors will be running with glee to their phones to give up names, numbers, & addresses.

They will now be hounded....had they gave the 45 minute presser instead of running for cover, they could have asked to not be bothered.

If the jurors felt 100 percent justified with their not guilty verdict, they would not run & hide! JMO

the verdict doesn't change the truth.  cindy denying and lying about the truth doesn't change the truth.  casey being what she is doesn't change the truth. i still believe that actions have consequences, including casey's actions. maybe we won't ever see what her consequences will be but I have faith that she will be held responsible eventually
Way to go, Cheeky!  You are right, the truth is the truth.  I think we all know what the truth was.  The ultimate truth and justice will out.

I believe they got such dumb people on that jury that they were not intelligent enough to understand what was presented. If you noticed they had NO college graduates on there.

Even people with college degrees can lack common sense which imo is what everyone of these jurors lacked.

That is true but I think these people were too uneducated to get the science of the trial. My 15 year old son said back when they were presenting the forensics "they better hope they have some intelligent jurors as this will be over most people's head because most people don't have science backgrounds anymore." He was right - they were not intelligent enough to interpret what they were shown.
i also think it is a lack of understanding as to what is reasonable doubt, while high it does not require an actual video recording of whatever happened.  it worries me that a lot of people in our society have an unrealistic expectation of what has to proven.  Like Linda said, the forest for the trees and no common sense.  I'm still they got 12 that dumb though.  12!
Could be all the TV dramas like CSI and stuff like that that point it out specifically and the jury didn't "see" the evidence like they show on these crime shows.

Dr Vass pointed it out to me plain and simple, but maybe the jury expected evidence shown like it is on TV. Too bad they didn't open the can and the whole jury puked on themselves.
i know this is just one jury verdict but i do think on some level it is representative of a lot of the problems in our county and society.  Without getting way off track on caylee's board i will say i think that children are primarily given lip service about abuse and neglect but that is about it.

I am in shock and beyond pissed off with this verdict, as I know so many are........but I believe someone will go postal on her and she will get an eye for an eye in due time. Someone will kill her. Hopefully she'll be found the same way Caylee was.  ::justice2NJ::

That would be the best poetic justice. Maybe that is why this happened. If she got life in prison, she would probably get along like a house on fire with the other inmates. Justice is patiently waiting for her to get out of jail. Justice will have its day, and Justice will have its say.

I have gone through the grieving process before sadly, this feels very similar, I am in denial and anger.  I don't even know what to feel, I feel like the world has turned upside down.

I think yhe jury got mas bc they didnt smell the can with decomp odor
I think they could have had a video of Casey throwing a garbage bag into the woods on Suburban, and it still wouldn't have made a difference. They were the only 17 people on the planet stupider than Bozo. Except for Cindy, I forgot about her.
i agree, for whatever reason they didn't want to convict her and they didn't.
i agree too...no notes taken, left notebooks on their chairs....we saw that they knew since the begining that they had their answer...even bobo wanted mistrial bc he new that he was loosing the battle.....but thanks to the lazu jury bobo got what he wanted...
