The reporting officers then asked him why he was wearing K-swiss shoes size 14 on the day in question when he now was wearing size 10.5 shoes.
After the suspect had put his shoe back on, I, reporting officer de Ruiter pressed down on the nose of the shoe and felt that the toes of the suspect fit straightly and properly in the shoe.

The suspect did not respond.

The interview was concluded at approxmimately 11.30.

He only responds when he lies.

Klass, that statement make it pretty clear. You can't stuff a size 14 foot into a size 10 1/2 shoe.

I agree.  I was just wondering if the shoe size tag could have been altered or switched.

Unless it was a fake shoe..But I think just looking at the foot they would know by the huge size diffrence.

Tamikosmom - this is just a flyby; on my way out. BUT - as someone pointed out a few pages ago, on the NEXT night - Monday night - J2K were busy with their casino outings and later, the Alabama posse. DK would not have been on his computer with J Croes on Monday night ... ?

Are you saying it was, or could have been, Tuesday night, that DK told J Croes about "hands down the pants"?

msmarple ... I apologize that it took so long to get back to you.  My hubby and I  have been at our grandson's birthday party ... just turned 4 years old.  Now that I am back in the sanctity of my home ... blessed peace and quiet ... I am attempting to catch up.

In my opinion ... Deepak's chat with John Charles Croes regarding obstructing the investigation and ... attempting to make sure Satish got the Holiday Inn fabrication straight ... took place "sometime" on Tuesday, May 31, 2005.  It could not have been too early ... according to Deepak's June 13, 2005 declaration it was around 6:45 AM on the morning of May 31, 2005 that he arrived home.  In his declaration of June 29, 2005 ... he states that Joran reminded him on May 31, 2005 that he could be monitored.

Suspect Statement
June 13, 2005

At approximately 06:45 hours, I got home. I had locked my car and walked to the front door. Before I could open the door, Satish had opened the door. When I stepped inside Satish signaled me not to make noise because my mother was still sleeping. We walked to Satish's bedroom. When I got into his bedroom he asked me what precisely was going on. I had told him that the girl that we went out with, had gone missing. And that they are saying that we are the last people with whom the girl was last seen. Then I told him the story of the security guard. That story I hadn't told Satish on the phone. Satish asked me if we were in trouble and I said that I didn't think so because we weren't the ones who had been kissing her. After that Satish said to me that we would talk later, but that he needed to get ready to go to school.. Then I said to him that I would be going to bed too. I walked to my bedroom and turned on my airco and my computer and I went on "msn messenger". I had then turned off the screen of my computer and the loudspeakers. I sat down on my bed, took off my shoes and fell asleep. I was very tired. And that was in the night from Monday to Tuesday.

On your question what made me think that the police would be monitoring our phones, I can say the following. I thought this might happen earlier and Joran had said the same thing to me on Tuesday May 31st 2005*.

The purpose of the chat traffic was to help the police and the Office of the DA with regard to the investigation so that they could see that I was indeed home in the night from Sunday to Monday. But I have understood that they do not have the chat traffic from that night but that they do have the one from Tuesday. I know the technical procedure, so if they have the one from Tuesday than they should be looking for the one from Sunday to Monday. If I had anything to hide than I would have never told the police about John Charles CROES. Because that just worsened the situation. Even though this never happened, about the girl putting her hands in/down my pants, I would like to know what kind of crime this is. I am again saying this never happened, but it is just my question to the district attorney.

Klaas,
I didn't mean measure his foot with an instrument, only with their hand by pressing down on the toe section to see if there was room at the end.

Apparently, there was.

But carry on. . . .nothing to see here, doesn't likely matter anyway.

If the Dutch interrogators thought enough to do this and record it, apparently, they didn't think he wore any Size 14 either.

Would like to know if his actual height has ever been verified also.  Of course he is likely to have grown in two years so now he might actually be 6'5" but don't think he was in most of the photos.

Re shoe size... you know the photo of the sporter making out on the catamaran?  Well, does anyone have the ability to look closer at that photo and see if you can read the size labelled on the bottom of the shoe?

Just a thought....

I just tried, you can't see any size or anything on the bottom.

Thanks.. bummer... but thanks for trying Klaas.

Anna - according to the PV, the Dutch didn't measure his foot..the shoe was tagged a size 10 1/2.

who knows what his real size was... it is even theoretical that someone sewed a different tag in his shoe... so ...I don't know.

Interesting statistic here. Michael Joran is 6' 6" tall, his shoe size is a 13. Three inches taller than Joran and one shoe size smaller?

Yep, wish I had a $ for every time my 6'3" size 11 NARROW has turned his ankles, too, likely because of small foot size but it does happen and he is well over 25 now.  Soaking feet, walking on crutches, seemed to go on forever with that one.

Who was first talking about these shoes at RWV, Dayhiker?  Believe we got ignored there as well for a long time, LOL!!

Had forgotten we made the announcement they were looking and were ignored for something like two days!
Must just be one of those things people are going to think whatever they want to think about.  The more things change, the more they stay the same. Wink

And same for sewing new tags in the shoes, he would make them match the Size 14 lie if he were going to alter the size.  It would make no sense to alter them to prove he was lying.   Shocked

He got caught plain and simple and that is why he was angry and slamming the shoes down and trying to get his attorney to stop the sizing experiement.

OMG are we on the shoe issue again? Evening Monkeys.......I have just performed a rather un-scientific experiment.......probably like ALE might be capable of.. .. but first let me say.

If I am wearing a jogging sneaker, or shoe with alot of padding the shoe size will logically be bigger.

If I wear a different type of shoe ie a flat without alot of padding the size is usually smaller. Sometimes the manufacturer  has variations, shoe to shoe size varries.

My DH wears between 13 sneaker/shoe and has worn a 14 golf shoe on occasion.

I just took a tape measure and measured DH's  foot , which equals 11"-11.25".

IMO, despite the shoe size almost 1 year later being described as 10.5, could this have been just the foot measurement in inches-not all that accurate due to defective technique and likely ill co-operation from joran at the time. The shoe issue is even mentioned in his book, and continues to be an issue....I think it is a significant one.

I think the discrepancy is one of measured foot size in inches vs. the manufactures listed size of a padded sneaker.
