After a trial of a month and a half, the jury took less than 11 hours to find Anthony not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

Tears welled in Anthony's eyes, her face reddened, her lips trembled, and she began breathing heavily as she listened to the verdict.

Many in the crowd of about 500 people outside the courthouse reacted with anger after the verdict was read, chanting, "Justice for Caylee!" One man yelled, "Baby killer!"

Given the relative speed with which the jury came back with a verdict, many court-watchers were expecting Anthony to be convicted in the killing, and they were stunned by the outcome.

Sentencing was set for Thursday. Anthony could get up to a year behind bars on each count of lying to investigators. But since she has been in jail for nearly three years already, she could walk free.

Prosecutors contended that Anthony — a single mother living with her parents — suffocated Caylee with duct tape because she wanted to be free to hit the nightclubs and spend time with her boyfriend.

Defense attorneys argued that the little girl accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool and that Anthony panicked and hid the body because of the traumatic effects of being sexually abused by her father.

CBS) - Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, and her brother Lee have released a statement through their attorney Mark Lippman following the not guilty verdict today on the most serious charges faced by the Florida mother:

While the family may never know what has happened to Caylee Marie Anthony, they now have closure for this chapter of their life. They will now begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.

Despite the baseless defense chosen by Casey Anthony, the family believes that the Jury made a fair decision based on the evidence presented, the testimony presented, the scientific information presented and the rules that were given to them by the Honorable Judge Perry to guide them.

The family hopes that they will be given the time by the media to reflect on this verdict and decide the best way to move forward privately.

The family also wanted the public to know that if anyone wanted to honor Caylee by leaving stuffed animals or other toys at any area near their home, that they would prefer those items be donated in Caylee's name to families in need, religious centers, or any other entity where the toys would be appreciated.

I didn't sleep well last night. This verdict really bothers me. KC will be back in court tomorrow. I'm not sure I can stomach it.

Everybody is saying that George and Cindy just got up and left the courtroom. I saw a video on TV last night that showed a uniformed police officer lean over to them and say something. They got up as a response to whatever he said to them.

I'm thinking that he offerred to help them leave and avoid the crowd. Therefore, I don't make much of the pundits who make note that they did not approach Casey, etc.

I watched NG, JV, and Fox last night and can't remember which show I saw that on. Sorry!

Good morning Monkeys ...yes yesterday was a sad day..I am still in shocked over the verdict..I am still trying to figure out how they can charge her with lying to cops about where her daughter was but no neglect or abuse charges much less murder charge...I couldnt sleep last night even after I laid down I just felt sick, numbed and disbelieving. I thought I would wake up and find this was all just a bad dream.

This whole thing makes me so angry. What more proof did the jury need? A video of her doing the crime? Looks like it. Too bad they didn't have any common sense and could not put the pieces together. Too bad they were in such a rush to get it done and get home.

Carol I still feel hurt that justice wasn't served the State of Florida proved their case, no matter how you slice it the lying to cops,partying, lying on where she was.. that would be the glincher.  Not a dysfunctional family life.
