Prosecutor in Casey Anthony case makes A-K family proud

Don Drane of Allegheny Township was surprised by the verdict in the Casey Anthony case but proud of the lead prosecutor in the Florida case.

That would be his daughter, Linda Drane Burdick, the assistant state attorney, who argued the case against the 25-year-old Anthony, accused of murdering her daughter, Caylee, 2.

 ::snipping2::

Drane was not surprised that his daughter, a 1982 graduate of Burrell High School, was chosen to lead the prosecution.

"I wasn't the least bit surprised," he said. "She's got 20 years of experience in child abuse and child sex cases and worked in homicide cases."

"She's tried numerous high profile cases over the years, Drane said. "This isn't her first rodeo."

Cindy Drane, an Oakmont resident, exchanged e-mails with her older sister a short time after the verdict was rendered.

"She said she's OK and she'll call me later," Cindy Drane said. "She said she thought she did the best she could. She just wanted to do her job. You just can't predict what a jury is going to do."

Drane said her sister is a passionate advocate for victims of often-nightmarish crimes.

 ::snipping2::

She said Linda told her that the Florida State Attorney General's office has not permitted her to talk to the media, even after the verdict.

"Geraldo Rivera came up to her and introduced himself, but she told him she couldn't talk to him," Cindy Drane said.

Linda is one classy lady..She has more class then all the Anthony's put together minus Caylee Along with Ashton and Mr. George IMOO

I really do wonder what Casey will do when she gets out of jail tomorrow.
She has no clothes, no car, no money, no credit, no job, no family.  Will one of the attorneys "take her in"?  Will they set her up with an apartment somewhere?  In FL or in some other state? She will no doubt sell her story at some point, will someone come forward immediately and front her the money?  She'll have to be whisked away from the jail undercover, to avoid a lynching.  And then where????

At this point, I could give a rats *^^ what she does.
Karma's a bitch.
Sorry, still in a bad mood....

you know the defense team, in her eyes, is her "family" now.  I can't wait til the day - and it will come - to where they no long have use for her and she's thrown away & ignored.

I was wondering that too - I'm sure they know what they have on their hands.   Wouldn't it be fitting if, after the sentencing tomorrow, the DT turned to KC and said, "it's been nice knowing you, killer, don't call us again".   But I'm sure they see her as a continued income stream so they'll continue to help her.

IMO, Baez will act as her broker for offers from various media and deals.

Exactly CBB.  Baez will be there every step of the way.  He had nothing to lose and all to gain.

I saw a video on a show once about a man whose child was killed and/or raped by a pig, and while the pig was being brought to court, the child's father waited in the airport and shot the pig, while he was escorted by police in handcuffs killing him.  Maybe that will happen to KC.

As upset as people are, I can see this happening.  Why else would her thug defense talk about getting her somewhere "safe".  there isn't anywhere safe.  My husband made a good point last night.  She will NEVER be able to go anywhere without someone throwing derogatory remarks her way.  Can you imagine her at the Thanksgiving dinner table with her new boyfriend - and I'm sure they'll be one.

I think it might happen too. She will have to look over her shoulder the rest of her life. With her lifestyle she will go back to she will could find her "Mr Goodbar".

2 days ago I thought Casey would be locked up for life in a cold small cell. After yesterday, NOTHING will shock me anymore. I think Casey will go on and pick up the pieces in her life. She will find a whole new group of friends to manipulate. I think she'll go on to new relationships (maybe with that young male lawyer who was up her ass after the verdict) She'll make loads of money, get bodyguards, reestablish the relationship with her mother, and eventually her father (on his deathbed) Things will be just fine for this master of lies. Sure she'll encounter the occasional "hater" but that won't phase her in the least. She's very delusional.

The only thing that would upset her, is if her mother pressured her into telling her what happened with Caylee. But we all know that Cindy is scared of Casey (look at the jail tapes) Cindy will not pursue this. If Cindy was scared of Casey before, you better believe she's scared now. I really hate saying all this, but if I assume bad things for Casey, then I'm just going to be all that more upset when I see paparazzi pictures of her laughing, and hearing about all the money she's making, and seeing that "CASEY PREGNANT AGAIN" in 8 years on the cover of People, hell the way this is going we may see her on Dancing with the Stars, or some other reality TV show! So when this inevitably happens, I'll just hang my head low, always say a prayer for Caylee, and tell her how sorry I am.

Everyone is talking about where will Casey go.  She can't go home because she threw everyone in her family under the bus.

I believe George and Cindy knew what Baez's plans were and that they were going to throw George and Lee under the bus.  George was just going to go up there and defend himself against the accusations.  They were going to try every trick in the book to see what stuck to the wall.  If accusing George of molestation would help get Casey out of jail so be it.  Cindy didn't care as long as it helped Casey.

This entire family is disgusting.  Their main priority right now is to make money.

I also believe Casey will be going home because she has no where else to go.  I believe the Anthony's will move from their current home.  Unless Baez has arranged a place to live with hopes of paying for it from future bookings.
If she goes home-the protesters infront of that house would be nonstop---the neighbors would burn that house down-- hopefully with them in it

I can't stop feeling that WE failed her!!! WE all took comfort in knowing that Casey on some for will go to Jail that we WILL get JUSTICE for CAYLEE and now it's just washed down the tubes..EVERYTHING..I can't help but feel solemn today..I'm sorry we failed you CAYLEE WE LOVE YOU!!

We didn't fail Caylee. She is loved and in our hearts. Justice failed her. The jury failed her. If this case had never been what it is/was the world would have never known about Caylee. Her image is etched in our minds and hearts.

She might try to, but I don't know. He wasn't there in court most of the time. Maybe he has a job he just can't take time off from, unlike his parents, who apparently don't work.  But i think an employer would let somebody go to show support for his sister on the day the verdict was read.  Lee's funny, because I'm sure there is love for Casey, but I think he's over her BS. At least I hope.  My concern is Mallory.  She might try to convince him that Casey needs their help, and that they should take her in.

I think Lee was not there because he thought she would be found guilty and he believes she is innocent or he did not care that Caylee was in a swamp or believes Caylee drowned or whatever, so he did not want to see her be found guilty.

I was just watching HLN panel discussing what she would do/where she would go- Ryan Smith said no matter how much it upsets us, she will get the book/movie offers and plenty of money- at which Mike G and Mike B both said -you know what, the feeling is SO strong about this woman getting away with murder that I just don't see people buying books, supporting her in any way and what's more likely is there will be a widescale boycott of any media that uses her.  That sounds like a great idea.  I will be compiling lists of advertisers on any site that pays her $$ to appear or give an interview and start from there, with letters.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/07/05/casey-anthony-trial-marcia-clark-says-the-verdict-was-worse-than-the-o-j-simpson-case.html

Worse Than O.J.!

Quote
And I think it’s where even the most fair-minded jurors can get derailed.

How? By confusing reasonable doubt with a reason to doubt. Some believe that thinking was in play in the Simpson case. After the verdict was read in the Simpson case, as the jury was leaving, one of them, I was later told, said: “We think he probably did it. We just didn’t think they proved it beyond a reasonable doubt.” In every case, a defense attorney will do his or her best to give the jury a reason to doubt. "Some other dude did it," or "some other dude threatened him." But those reasons don’t necessarily equate with a reasonable doubt. A reason does not equal reasonable. Sometimes, that distinction can get lost.
I wish it could be explained this way.  But, frankly, I think this jury was just lazy and wanted to go home.  It is that simple.

Good Morning All!! Just saw LKB, Starr Jones at each other over the verdict on Today show. LKB doesn't want the jury to reveal themselves. She said she fears for their safety with the mob mentality out there! Also, i did not know about the celebrity responses to this: Sharon Osborne & Ashton Kutcher say they are outraged!!??
I missed the Today Show as I finally fell asleep last night and slept in.  I have friends on my FB page that all are outraged about the verdict.  I had no idea that many of them were fallowing this case.

Morning Monkeys, this is a sad sad day, this verdict hurts my heart! Sad
I have a ? for all you smart monkeys. Does anyone remember what pic the jurors asked to see before they were handed the case for deliberations? Surely a light bulb didn't just pop on over each and every juror at the same time wanting to see the same pic or could it? Were they deliberating among themselves before they were hand the case? TIA

she hads bozo --they will make money together

Let's hope the IRS is waiting outside OC jail with charges of tax evasion. She owes them $78,000.

We could hope - but in all likelyhood, there have already been offers coming in for the "first"  interview.   Casey & the DT are all so slimey.  Disgusting. And they will profit - and not think another thought about Caylee.  I pray their celebrations are short lived.

I hope Casey, the Anthonys and every member of the defense team is shunned by the world.

They need to be treated as the vile disgusting vermin they are.

What would this stupid movie show? How Caylee really died? We will NEVER know how Caylee really died? 3 people know how Caylee died. Caylee, Casey, and God and none of them can really tell us.

Will it be about the trial? Well we all saw what happened in the trial. Every moment was televised so why would we want to put ourselves through all that again? I would never watch a movie about Casey & all her sickening lies. Ugh I'm so sick over this and I think I'm making myself sicker by picturing all the good Casey will get. And the bad thing is she will be incapable of going into hiding. When she's released, she'll want her 15 minutes of glory and Bozo will be there to extend that to maybe even years.

I might turn into an alky because of this!!

Today the sun shines truth on each juror.
Now they are realizing what they did.
I have been reading comments on Yahoo news for some time now.  People who did not even watch the trial are raving mad.
Each juror has been forever changed by their actions just as every person involved by Casey.
May they never have peace.
