Casey Anthony To Remain In Jail
Anthony Found Guilty Of Lying To Law Enforcement
POSTED: Thursday, July 7, 2011
UPDATED: 10:01 am EDT July 7, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony was sentenced to four years in the Orange County Jail after being convicted Tuesday of four counts of lying to investigators.

Anthony was sentenced to one year in jail on each count to be served consecutively as well as a $1,000 fine per count.

It is unclear when Anthony will be released from jail. She has been in jail since October 2008 and is expected to get credit for time served and gain time.

Judge Belvin Perry said the defense has 30 days to file an appeal. A hearing has been set for the end of July.

Anthony was acquitted on first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Protestors chanted Caylee's name outside the courthouse after Anthony's sentencing.

Casey plead guilty to the check fraud case on Jan. 25, 2010. I believe her time served now should start at that date.  We shall see.

You always have good insight....

If my time schedule is correct I think it will be about August of next year because of the sentence for the fraud convictions. Time served on that can not be counted.

It can and will be counted unfortunately

If they give her 10 days "good time" for every 30 days served, it still looks to me
that she will have 123 days to serve, minus 40 days "good time" on that would be
80 days left, but who knows how they figure.

Yep that is what I got too.

I can't remember how much time she got for the check fraud charges to take that off the time served. Does anyone remember?

Dont look sad you got away with murder!!!

She looked mad to me, not sad

She thought she was leaving. She was pissed. A lot can happen in over a year. She will no longer be in that jail - she will be transferred to the prison.

She will be out July-August of this year

I really wonder since they did not say in open court if she will be out later this week or early next week

Sadly, I agree. I think she's walking today, but JP did what he did to throw everyone off.

i dont know what to think she had to do 1460 days she probably will get around 330 days or so for good time..Plus Orange county jail can give her extra. They have the authority to release her when they want.

That seems like an awful amount of good time, almost 50% off?

I actually think our patience is going to be tested. Baez isn't going to let his money-maker screw up right away. No way. He's going to become her agent, publicist, etc. So, she will not mess up right away. Nope. It's going to take some time. Eventually, however, she will tire of it. So, we shall bide our time.

Casey Anthony prosecutor responds to juror remark

Quote
Speaking to CNN, Ashton said the jury "shouldn't have been even considering punishment during the guilt phase."

Ashton said the jury was instructed that sentencing was not part of what they should consider.
"If they did it based on the penalty then they didn't follow the law," he said.

Too bad they can't call a mistrial on that. Dear God Help Us!
Someone posted CJBP's phone number last night on the last thread and I have been trying to call him since last night but it says the mail box is full.

No, JP already said these would NOT be concurrent to that conviction.

No he did not..He said she will be out by end of July early August of this year

Actually, I assumed this year but he didn't say this year.

4 years but she's served 900+ days already. Judge considers time served plus gain time for good behavior. The time already served plus 10 days off for each month served will allow her to enter the public by the end of the summer. I'm thinking last week of July to second week of August.

Orange County deputies sit outside the Anthony home in Orlando during the Casey Anthony sentencing hearing.

That pic just pisses me off!  Although I do not live in Florida - our second house (daughters and grandson live there) was robbed over Memorial weekend.  This guy took everything- even luggage and underwear!! - daughter walked in on it (thank God she was not hurt) and got license plate - police were just seconds from catching him still at the house.  We are still waiting for a detective to put out a warrant for his arrest.  Daughter has been staying with us because she is too scared to go home - and yet the Anthony's and KC get all this protection?????

The fact is, they may as well have let her walk right out today.  It doesn't change the fact that she got away with murdering her child, stealing, and lying about all of it.

And what does this send to all the future ppl that will break the law???
You can get away with it.....

I was wrong about them transferring her because the judge said specifically that she would serve it in the Orange County jail. I think it will be at least August of next year because he said the sentence would NOT serve concurrent with the check sentence.

Casey Anthony attorney Cheney Mason faces Bar complaint for lewd gestures

Cheney Mason flipped off a photographer and grabbed himself at an Orlando restaurant after client Casey Anthony was found not-guilty of murder and other charges

 ::snipping2::

"The Bar's current regulatory policy is that even actions by lawyers in a private setting that reflect poorly on the profession are disciplinable. This was an obscene activity in a public setting,'' the complaint alleges.

A message to Mason's office was not immediately returned. He is expected in court this morning for Anthony's sentencing for lying to police.
