The Santa Lucia phone call has always been the one that raises questions for me. That area is basically wilderness and desert... that call has always seems like a call to or from a group burying a body out in the "sticks".

The great, gray, shapeless mass of time between 3 AM or thereabouts, and that phone call, is where the truth of the case can be found... and we don't have a clue what these characters were doing, or where they were. NOTHING. The ONLY "hints" we have are a 4 AM McDonald's "run" that appears to be accurate according to the Supreme Court of Aruba, and a random blog in the early days suggesting that Joran be asked about a boat ride of 2 1/2 miles at 3:45 AM. Neither of which make sense together, or separately, compared with almost anything else we know in the case.

A question that I may have missed seeing an answer to in the last few frantic days... Do we have a time frame for when the Kalpoes were seen cleaning out their car in the vicinity of their house? Was it supposed to be like 2:45 AM, or more like 6:45 AM?

I have the impression that there's new info out there that makes this event seem to have been much later, almost to the early morning hours, than we thought before.

KALPOES CLEANED THEIR CAR:
-“ I had the info at 12:30 AM on June 16th and the boys were seen cleaning the car out on the Tuesday after the disappearance. I relayed my info to someone on the ground in Aruba who verified it to some degree and it also led to the episode with the ES dogs going to the Kalpoe home much later. I discussed it with a member of the search co-ordinators when they approached me for ideas on where they might look first.”

I have always had that phone call from the eastern part of the island on my mind too.

Being Aruba is mostly desert, are there any dirt roads, flat spaces where a plane can land out there??? A body could be transported there, put on a plane (or even at a regular airport for that reason, but they'd have to use a hurst to make it "fly" to put on an airplane at the airport)

anyway... body could be dropped into the ocean on that side of the island where the waters are very rough and where the sharks are.

Am behind in reading. Happy Mother's Day!

I'm not buying the idea that they waited until Tuesday to clean the car! They knew they had a problem well before that.

Unless they left the scene before the crime started, as in, rape/assault/murder at VDS home... and wanted to try to eliminate forensic evidences of Natalee ever having been in the car.

If the crimes took place IN THE CAR or Natalee's body was in the car afterwards, panic mode sets in and car is cleaned IMMEDIATELY, do not pass Go or collect $200. Period.

It may be moot anyway since it appears the cars were switched.
