Does Aruba have any traffic laws?  Stop signs?  Red lights?  That small place seems to have a helluva lot of accidents!

All of those islands have mostly traffic circles and they all drive like bats outta you-know too  Laughing I remember being on a business trip on Antigua and feeling sure our taxi driver was taking us to our grave  Confused They also paint a big white X on the road where fatalities occur and there were plenty of them !!  Shocked

Hey Easy, you have something against tall girls?  Laughing  Laughing

Their papers are just full of accidents everyday!  I figured they must just sorta aim the car and hit the gas!

From what I could see I thought that tall Dutch woman was attractive.  She might make a good, new spokesperson if those Dutch ever start talking!!!!!!   Razz

Easy, picture New Orleans at full-speed ahead. Laughing  Laughing

That's frightening!   Shocked

A couple of other items from today's Diario below.

And yes, auto accidents very prevalent; the paper often has pictures of several. Some Aruba folks (Jossy might be among them; plus Criyio (sp?) poster) have said that traffic accidents are a huge problem there. Lots of DUI and joy riding.

Good Morning,
Concerning when they were washing Deepak's car, I found this in my notes:

Arubagirl. Good to see you.

Were you the one who said that a neighbor of Deepaks saw his car being washed? If so, what day was it? Was it the night Natalee dis. or the next night? Also if this is the case, who was washing the car? TIA

Arubagirl

It was the same night, the lady only referred to the people washing the car as 'them', so I took it as the brothers.

Getagrip, to me the translation is perfect! And I am really wondering why Diario just doesn't find out just WHO is the actual owner of thecasino.

Wouldn’t it be very difficult to substitute a car even in Aruba?  VIN numbers are all over the things and will quickly give a complete history of the car.  My mind just won’t let me rectify the idea that those two could pull something off like that.

Good Morning Monkeys.  Whhheeewww... just caught up - my eyes are crossed.

Very interesting about the look about at the Kalpoes.  I bet Deepak didn't like the idea of them being there..Boooooohooooooo.

Something is brewing alright.  The pressure is being applied.  I hope they all are shaking in their shoes.

There has been so much car talk over the pass several days it has become a little confusing to me.  I know ALE did a lousy job, but I can't see them just impounding a car, without looking at the registration papers and running the tag, etc.

So, the speculation is that Deepak took the car to Automotive Enterprises and had the interior changed out?  Would the owner of that place be willing to stick his neck out that far for Deepak?

We are not sure.  However, based on information I have from someone who is in the car rental business internationally, the Kalpoe boys had a family member in the car rental business and they could have been using a rental unit or turned in a rental unit.  If these people own a car rental, they could easily swap cars at will.

I doubt it.  But I do think he would rent them space, lift and tools for a do it yourselfer.  Replacement parts from the rental lot .  Maybe even export the original parts in a different colored car.  Wrecked cars sometimes have such inside of them.  Salvage or whatever it is called.

Maybe that is where the rest of the pimps come into play, helping change out the car.

Just a theory, no proof.  Beth did say something about their having changed out the car one time.

Potter Author Adds to U.K. Reward Fund
May 13, 12:08 PM EST

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has pledged a major contribution to a $3 million reward fund for the safe return of a British girl who has gone missing in Portugal, a Sunday newspaper said.

The News of the World said Rowling had offered the single largest contribution to the fund started by the tabloid newspaper. It called Rowling's pledge "staggering," but said the author asked the amount be kept secret.

Madeleine McCann, 4, disappeared on May 2 after her parents left her, and her brother and sister, both aged 2, alone while they went to a restaurant at Praia da Luz, their vacation resort in Portugal's Algarve region. Portuguese police continue to search for her.

The newspaper said the amount Rowling offered was larger than the $495,000 pledge from Topshop owner Sir Philip Green.

Sir Richard Branson offered $198,000 and American Idol judge Simon Cowell promised $99,000.

Rowling, 41, is one of Britain's richest people with an estimated fortune of $1 billion, thanks to the best-selling novels and films about her boy wizard.

tyler  Laughing  Laughing what a perfect comment !

I love the story of J.K. Rowling's life, she built something from nothing while on welfare. I am further distressed hearing more and more regarding the 'healthy' child trafficking ring which has gone unchecked in and around Portugal. Look what it's taking to get this brought forward, one more life of a beautiful and innocent child likely lost.

Just taking a break from washing my windows at my house.. Lots of windows to do but 3/4 finished and they do look better..  I bought one of those irobot vacumes and if it works I will buy the floor washer next.. My friend has the lawn mower and she loves it, but I have two acre's and I'm not sure its made for that large a yard.. I think the max is 3/4 and they are really expensive..  Well need to get some water and back to work..

I get confused like Easy with so much information without some kind of sanity checks.. Too many rabbit holes and some are out there to mislead..  Aruba has been playing this game a long time and hopefully someone outside the island will bring it down..

Does anyone know the model year of Deepak's car?

Those tail lights are very different from the 2002-2003.
