Anthony's Ocala lawyer says her family always took 'unpopular cases'

Sims, who maintains a law office in both Ocala and Gainesville, told the Journal she became involved in Anthony's defense when fellow defense attorney Cheney Mason approached her at a conference after hearing her deliver a speech to attorneys about medical evidence.

She said experts retained by the state in the Anthony trial "went too far in their forensics" which the jury may have found problematic, and stated her belief that the defense "breaking things down more simply was the key."

Of the state's focus on the existence of chloroform in Anthony's trunk, she referred to as "an inconvenient fact" that can be considered "incomplete and inconsistent science."

Casey Anthony's attorney fires back at Zenaida Gonzalez civil case

ORLANDO -- 
Casey Anthony's attorney filed a fiery response to a hearing and deposition scheduled by attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez.

The court has set a hearing Friday in this case, however, it might not happen.

Casey's civil attorney, Charles Greene wants the 10 a.m. hearing canceled and he wants her deposition postponed.

In the response by Casey's civil attorney, Greene is asking Judge Rodriguez to cancel the hearing, stop the deposition and he's requesting a case management conference which would, essentially, set up how the case should proceed.

Greene lists a number of reasons saying Morgan "refused to reschedule the deposition when counsel was available."

Greene has a trial scheduled to begin next Tuesday. He said Casey, at this point, would have no choice other than to assert her 5th Amendment right against self incrimination.

He said the criminal trial for her was, "a grueling experience that has left her emotionally and mentally exhausted." Essentially, Greene's response reads there's no legitimate emergency for a hearing or a deposition to happen immediately.

IF she received this $1M for an interview, of course she would owe Federal Income Tax on it.  Getting it from her though would be the difficult part, unless they have the levy in place

Plesea is a 1971 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in art education. She also studied music. Her son, Nate, lives in Howland, and she has a grandson, Zachary. She is church organist at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Cortland.
