I've spent 4.5 hours today digging up weeds outside, and if I dig for about 30 more minutes, I'll be done with the area I'm trying to clear now.
I can't postpone that waiting on MF.  

Shout out to MF - hurry!  

BT, start saving up those newspapers and blocking your weeds in the fall and placing compost over it and when spring comes do more of the same but make sure you have about a 12-inch thickness of good compost and newspapers and don't use compost from the horses or cows.  Get sterilized compost without weed seeds or use the compost with the seeds and throw some wildflower seeds, poppies and larkspurs in on top of them.

Thanks, Tyler. I do need to follow your advice. Today I'm weeding a huge shade bed full of ferns that I have neglected shamelessly. When I started this morning, it was mainly a bed of poison oak, kudzu, Virginia creeper, sawbriar, wild strawberries, and various tree saplings.  

Yikes, I cannot weed when there is poison ivy.  DH weeds that because I can be outside when it has spores and just get one from the wind and get a reaction.  After he has removed any poison ivy then I undertake the rest.  We really do not have many weeds, however, as we started this about 5-6 years ago and we have minimal weeds.  I start seedlings on winter solstice and by spring most are ready to go into the ground when the poppies and larkspur start blooming.  I did so many this year, I ended up giving about 200 (what I was too tired to put out yesterday) to the local master gardener's garden in the historical area.  DH works at that garden a lot and he always appreciates my seedlings as it cuts down on their work.

I wish I were as good a gardener as you, Tyler. I'll bet everything you grow is absolutely beautiful!

As far as poison ivy, there was so much I had to remove that I kept picking it up with my gardening gloves on and wheeling away wheelbarrow loads of it. I just hope I don't see any little blisters tomorrow.

I’ve been expecting something to happen, but I didn’t figure on a press conference.  They must have something they need to announce before it spreads in the papers, etc. or they could have waited.  Hmmmmmmmm

I suspect Medley is as curious as the rest of us right now, as I also suspect she probably hasn't heard from her VDS buddies in a while now.  I could be wrong.
