Easy, my son called about a week ago to ask if you wrap baking potatoes with the shiny side of the aluminum foil facing inside or out?    

Well, I am interested to know what you told him.

ok I did giggle   and I said "darlin the shiny side needs to be facing out"

then hung up and busted with daughter

Thats what I told Easy   and included any type of fire.  
Now I have made some flour gravy that could stop an oil well fire... but that is a different story

I never use foil on my baked potatoes because we like the skin really crispy.  Not to sound dumb, but would it really make that much difference which side the foil was facing?  I understand the concept, just wondering.  I may have to do a test

OF I hate to admit this but I had a skillet flame up once and just ran to the door to the screen porch and dropped it. Rick had to sand the burn mark out of the decking  

I really shouldn't laugh at the son tonight either, poor thing had all four wisdom teeth taken out Weds plus broke a tooth in workouts.   He still can't talk but is burning up the texting on his phone

heat reflects from shiny side

My dad when he got older got silly ??.
He was in the kitchen and wanted to put a patch on his outside work pants.
He got some fabric glue, but the end of it was plugged up as the glue was old.
Oh, so he gets a bright idea of heating up the tip of the tube, gets a lighter and starts squeezing the tube while he has the end into the flame.
Well, the thing unplugs and a fire ball shoots up to the ceiling.
New ceiling.
..
Could have been worse, his glasses did get messed up, but he was still intact.
..
He ( when he was over 75 ) stated to do silly stuff, the not thinking things like this. ..
Every time he set the alarm system off, he blamed the dog, Oh he must have pushed the wrong buttons, except the dog was only 18 inches tall and could not reach the control panel.

I never use foil on my baked potatoes because we like the skin really crispy.  Not to sound dumb, but would it really make that much difference which side the foil was facing?  I understand the concept, just wondering.  I may have to do a test  

I can never tell when they are done if I do not wrap them...
Hate to squeeze them and break that yummy crust. and slow down the baking ..

Shinny side out makes them cook slower (so they say ... reflects more heat) ..  But I almost Never Ever Ever use the MicroWave
