Thanks for posting this.  I wrote my state rep and got a very nice reply that she too was disappointed in the verdict and was going to draft legislation for Caylee's Law in Arizona.  Tonight on Channel 5 news, they interviewed a woman in Tempe, AZ who is also urging lawmakers  ::MonkeyDance::to get this law passed in Arizona.  Here's the link:  http://www.kpho.com/video?clipId=6049685&topVideoCatNo=213860&autoStart=true

The bill was drafted with the assistance of the Maricopa County Attorney’s office. HB 2018 requires that a parent, guardian or person who has the care or custody of a minor under six years of age to immediately report the child missing after a 24-hour period.

“Arizona children need to be protected and if one goes missing it’s vital that police begin the search process before the child is put in danger or their life is at risk,’ said Ugenti. “This bill is a reasonable and enforceable way to protect young children and hold accountable those parents and adults who fail to live up to their responsibilities.”

The House has approved so-called “Caylee’s Law” bill inspired by the Casey Anthony case in Florida.

Republican Rep. Michelle Ugenti (you-gen-tee) of Scottsdale sponsored the bill, which would make it a felony punishable by a presumptive sentence of 1 1/2 years if a parent to fails to report that a child under age six has been missing for 24 hours.
