Thank you for contacting me about proposed legislation commonly referred to as
Caylee's Law.  It is good to hear from you.

You raise important points about legislation that would make it a crime to fail to
report a missing child within 24 hours which I will take into careful
consideration.  It was heartbreaking to learn about the fate of Caylee Anthony.
Our response to this matter should start from a position of resolve that instances
of tragedy, such as this, must be handled in accordance with our highest ideals of
justice.  Your opinion is important to me.  I hear what you're saying, and you can
rest assured I will keep your thoughts firmly in mind as I continue my work in the
Senate.

Again, thank you for getting in touch and sharing your thoughts with me.  Please
contact me with any additional comments or concerns. I also encourage you to visit
my website at http://baucus.senate.gov for more information on issues at home in
Montana and across the nation.
Sincerely,

Thank you for contacting me about the need for legislation, like Caylee's Law, to
protect America's children.  I am always interested in hearing about what is on the
minds of Montanans, and I appreciate your perspective on this issue.

As a parent and grandparent, I can think of few things as important as the safety of
our children.

Although efforts to pass Caylee's Law are occurring at the state level, I will keep
your views in mind should this issue come before the Senate.  I hope you will
contact me again with your concerns or if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Jon Tester

United States Senator
